HALLOWEEN DETAILSWe will celebrate Halloween at Lakewood Creek on Thursday, October 31st. Those who aresigned up to help with the parties may arrive for check in at 2:20. Our parade will start at 2:30.Parents are welcome to watch the parade (weather permitting) as we exit door 1 by grade leveland walk on the sidewalk/path around the entire school and re-enter into door 16. Our partieswill begin at 2:45. Please leave complicated costuming or makeup for the evening trick or treating. There islimited time for costume preparation at school. Costume guidelines:

Please NO masks.Hair color is strongly discouraged, and no coloring of hair will be allowed in the building.It is recommended that this be done after school hours in preparation for the eveningholiday activities.Make-up is not to be worn to school in the morning. Any make-up applied before theparade should be something that the student can apply by themselves.Weapons (knives, swords, guns, pikes, light sabers, etc.) and gore are prohibited. Itemswill be set aside by the staff and returned to the student at the end of the school day.

Whatcharacteristics does a student with a growth mindset possess? How does having a growthmindset help you academically? At Home: Share some of the quotes below to discuss what they mean to your child and howthey connect to a growth mindset.

Have your child create her own personality phrase that represents her and her mindset. Do thesame with a character in a story you are reading. Identify characters who have demonstrated a�xed mindset and how that affected them.
