Costumes, Hair and Makeup. • Clothing plays an important part into trying to achieve the crime genre. The clothes I plan to use are unlike the ones used in mafia movies, like goodfellas or the godfather where the characters wear old-fashioned suits when being apart of an Italian mob. I am trying to achieve a more modern take to the genre, taking place in an area that is gradually developing, following a more street gangster theme. Inspiration is drawn from new school rappers such as ScHoolboy Q, ASAP Rocky and Logic, as well as the movie ‘4 Brothers’. Although I feel that the clothing for each character must not be too ‘out of the ordinary’ so hoodies and jackets will be commonly used, also to distinguish between each character, I will use different hats to represent their personality. • When discussing hair, none of my main characters will have their hair exposed as they will be covered with a certain style of hat. Only the rookie is an exception as he is the new member of the gang. To keep the film opening true to the genre, I believe that real life gang members do not take the time to fix their hair, instead they use hats frequently, I intend to use this ideology to achieve a high level of authenticity whilst portraying a hooligan type of story.
