SCLEROTHERAPY NON-INVASIVE

Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical procedure that effectively treats small varicose veins and “spider veins.” A sugar solution is injected directly into a vein with a fine needle, causing the lining of the blood vessel to swell and stick together. The vein will eventually collapse and will fade from view. The blood flow from the collapsed vein will then reroute to healthy veins within the leg.

This procedure can help the appearance of veins and relieve aching, swelling, burning, and cramping in the leg. It is a safe procedure with very few side effects that clears in four to six weeks. The procedure is done in our office, does not require anesthesia, and only takes 30 – 45 minutes.

You may have some bruising at the injection site that can last for several days. For best results, you will also need to wear a compression stocking for about two weeks. Typically, you can return to your normal activity right after the treatment but should wait a few weeks to resume strenuous exercise.

WHAT TO EXPECT: • Results for small veins or spider veins in three to six weeks• Larger veins may require three to four months• Multiple treatments may be needed to achieve the results you want

The Nd: YAG laser penetrates the skin into the superficial blood vessel. The heat generated from the laser coagulates the blood inside the vein, causing it to collapse and seal. Over the next few weeks, the vein will disappear.

Rosacea is an inherited condition that affects the mid-face with flushing and red bumps. It is most common in fair-skinned individuals, but it can occur in any skin type. The disease is most common and most severe in people between the age of 30 and 50, although the disorder can appear at any age. People with rosacea may also have extremely irritable, sensitive skin. Flushing is a very common characteristic of rosacea sufferers.

The red bumps resemble acne, but there are no blackheads. Certain foods, heat, hot beverages, alcohol, and exercise can aggravate and bring on multiple bumps and pustules.

Fungal infections of the nails occur most often on toenails due to ill-fitting shoes and the warm, moist environment of closed footwear. The art of shaping the eyebrow depends on the natural growth of the brow, facial symmetry, meticulous measurement, and mapping of the brow position based on facial landmarks and bone structure. The color of pigment selection is based on Fitzpatrick skin type and skin color undertones.
