CORRIGENDUM - 1

Subject: Modification in the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Operational Guidelines, 2013,Fourth edition.

The Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Operational Guidelines, 2013, fourth edition wasreleased on 2nd February 2013 during 8th Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Diwas. Someinconsistencies have been noticed in para 2.6 (Hindi and English version) and in paras 4.1.2,12.5.2, 12.7.8 and S.NoA of Annexure 27 (Hindi version).

Para 4.1.1 on Mate (Hindi version) may be read as para no. 4.1.2.

This has been modified and corrected paras are enclosed for necessary action. Thismay be disseminated to lower level for information and necessary action.

2.6 CIVIL SOCIETYCivil Society Organisations (CSOs) working at the grass-roots can play a very significant rolein awareness generation among wage-seekers and in supporting and building capacities ofGPs and State Governments in planning, implementation and social audit of MGNREGA.Self Help Groups (SHGs) can play a direct role in spreading awareness, organizing work,accessing entitlements and ensuring social accountability. Chapter 17 describes theframework for engagement of CSOs in these tasks.
