PETITION FOR NULLITY OF CONSENT TO MARRIAGE | What is an annulment? | It is a declaration by the Church that the consent to a particular marriage is null and void. It is not that the marriage is annulled, but rather that the consent to that marriage itself is judged to be fl awed. We are aware that unresolved previous marriages may be the source of great spiritual and/or emotional pain. The annulment process is offered as a path to the healing of these pains and a reunifi cation with the Church. Because there seems to be some misunderstanding and anxiety regarding an annulment and the process involved, we would like to offer an informational meeting about annulment to anyone who has considered applying for an annulment. It will help in our planning to know how many people would be interested in attending such a meeting. Please contact Denis (419 340-8013; [email protected]) by November 10, 2013 if you have questions about annulments and/or would like to attend the informational meeting.

THANKSGIVING CLOTHING DRIVE Our CSA Sojourner Committee is sponsoring our Annual Thanksgiving Clothing Drive (Nov. 2- Dec. 1). Please bring your slightly used, but in good condition, clothing items to the DeBenedetti Rm. in boxes or bags. Thank you for your generosity.

Vocations Prayer: Gracious God, make me an instrument to encourage others to give of themselves and challenge me to do the same. Inspire men and women to respond generously to your call to service and leadership in your Church as priests, consecrated religious and deacons. Amen.

Purpose

During the recent pastoral planning process there were many members of Corpus Christi University parish who expressed their desire to connect with other members of the parish in a more convenient and effective way. In particular, desire was ex-pressed to connect with students to provide them with support, especially in the area of career mentor-ing. In light of this discussion Pillar VI of the 2013-2014 pastoral plan emphasized that our "parish de-velops disciples of Jesus to carry out the responsibil-ity of offering personal witness in the culture, realiz-ing that the gifts and talents bestowed on the univer-sity students and permanent community members are not given simply for personal advantage but for the benefit of others and for the good of society and the Church". The goal of this pillar is to provide opportunities for the members of the parish to devel-op leadership skills to be used in the Church and throughout society. This year the fourth year stu-dents of the Christian Leadership Program will be creating an online Parish Community Skills Directo-ry to support the leadership development of the members of our parish.

What will the Directory Include?

The intention is for the directory to contain infor-mation such as: name, address, type of employment, etc. so that students and permanent community members can connect with one another. Connec-tions can be phone calls, emails, dinner, or any other way you would like to connect with someone else. If you participated in a “Pairing Program” in the past, this is a more extensive network in which eve-ryone in the parish can connect to one another.
