The organisation started in 1998 and was launched by then-Prime Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong. CORE VALUES Building relationships Innovation Integrity Service to Others Sharing Experience Championing: Our programmes are inclusive, serve beneficiaries with diverse profiles, and create purposeful volunteering journeys for our seniors: BEFRIENDING • Encourage socially isolated and vulnerable seniors through relationships and community activities to keep them physically and mentally active • Engage elderly patients who have been discharged from hospital care • Mentor and supervise at-risk primary school children from low income families • Support rehabilitating mental health patients through their recovery GUIDING • Conduct guided tours at heritage centres, art galleries and places of interest • Serve as concierge and guide in hospitals and/or galleries TRAINING • Help seniors bridge the digital divide by developing their IT skills • Train and develop effective volunteers and volunteer team leaders EPISODIC • Volunteer on an ad-hoc basis at your preferred time and pace
