Coronado Bay Hotel

• Hotel and condominiums tower, located on the beautiful beaches of Coronado, Panama.

• The project: Hotel of six floors, installation of chilled water network. Other floors are condominiums with mini splits.

• Luxury and comfort is offered by the Coronado Bay Hotel, all material with top quality were required.

• Flexalen was selected as the best option for chilled water supply.

• As the hotel is directly in front of the Pacific Ocean and humidity levels can go up to 90%, Flexalen was selected as security against condensation problems

Flange connectors

• Connection of chiller machine and machine room to the main network with flange connectors.

• This system was connected to steel network in the machine room. The steel valves were inserted in the Flexalen pipes.

Installation

• Flexalen 60 was installed for small diameters in derivation to fan coils. Additional insulation ½” was necessary to prevent condensation.

• Its flexibility allows to save couplings and saving labor.

• The pictures shows the connection of fan coils to they main line in the corridor.

Installation

• Electro fusion tees show the strongest point of the system with a double security wall.

• The corrugated protection in HDPE with excellent mechanical protection & condensation control.

Installers in action

• The original plan considered one week per floor to install the steel network. With Flexalen one day per floor was enough to install a complete floor. (80% time was reduced).

• The installers received the training on site, and Thermaflex offered support all the time the installation was executed.

• With the fixingpoints, anchoring system and flexibility, the Flexalen pipes could be installed very easily.

• The architect responsible of the design visited several times the site to supervise the trajectory of the pipes. He could not believe the fast and easy installation.

Installation

• This picture shows the connection of fan coil equipment. This connections were made in every single room.

• The installers accept the Flexalen system immediately and they recognized how easy is the process and no more spray of polyurethane was necessary.
