Trojan WarsApple of discord Trojan war began because

Eris, the Goddess of discord, was not invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, a Sea Goddess, so Eris brought a Golden Apple which she claimed belonged to whomever was the fairest. Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite argued over who would receive it, and Paris, prince of Troy, was to choose. Hera promised power, Athena promised wealth, and Aphrodite promised the most beautiful woman in the world. This woman was Helen, wife of Menelaus of Sparta. Paris took Helen back to Troy.

The apple of discord Trojan war began because Eris, the Goddess of discord brought a Golden Apple belonging to the fairest woman: between Hera, Athena, and Aprhodite. Paris, Prince of Troy was the judge. Hera promised power, Athena promised wealth, and Aphrodite promised the most beautiful woman in the world: Helen, wife of Menelaus of Sparta. Paris took Helen back to Troy.

Greek Armament Menelaus was angry that Helen was taken and called upon her old suitors who had sworn to always defend her honor. Many did not wish to go to war, but supported in providing ships. A seer prophesied the only way Sparta could win was if they had Achilles fighting on their side.
