THE BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving a true history of the creation of heaven, earth, and humanity and containing a correct prophecy of the ages to come regarding heaven, earth, and the destiny of humanity. Moreover, there is no salvation outside of what is taught in its pages.

II TIMOTHY 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

II PETER 1:21

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

BEFORE THE BIBLE

• GOD spoke with a few select men (Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abram, Isaac, Jacob,etc.)

• The Heavens/Creation Declare His Glory• Another way of revealing His will was toplace within man a conscience—that innerability to detect right and wrong.

FIRST WRITTEN COVENANT

Moses was the first man to view the writtencovenant of God. Atop Mount Sinai, theLord talked with Moses and with His fingerinscribed the law on tablets of stone. ThenGod revealed the plan whereby He would preserve His written Word for all generations.

LAW IS PRESERVED

The nation of Israel was chosen to preserveboth God’s written and spoken Word.Moses was instructed to place the tablets ofstone in the most holy and sacred place: theark of the covenant. This was the safestrepository to protect God’s written covenantwith Israel.

SCRIBES COPIED THE LAWMoses was also commanded to have theLevites and scribes make a copy of the law and preserve it.

Through the following ages, copies andmanuscripts were written on clay tablets,wood, leather, animal skins, parchment andsheets of papyrus.

FIRST BIBLE 1488This careful process continued until theinvention of the printing press about the middle of the fifteenth century in Germany. John Gutenberg devised a method of arranging alphabet letters onto a plate to create a stamped impression on paper.

For years he worked, perfecting his methods.With his new invention, labor and costsin book printing were greatly reduced. Books could now be printed in volume and made available to the general public! Gutenberg’s first Book to be printed was the Bible!

MORE TRANSLATIONSBible is indeed uniquely different from all other books. It has been read by morepeople and published in more languages than any other book. More copies of it have been produced than of any other book in history.

No book could remotely compare with thecirculation of the Scriptures.

SURVIVOR OF TIME

The Bible is remarkable in its survival ofcriticism. It has withstood vicious attacksfrom enemies as has no other book. Voltaire, the French infidel who died in 1778, said that in one hundred years, Christianity would be erased from history.

Only fifty years after his death, the GenevaBible Society used Voltaire’s own printingpress and house to produce hundreds of Bibles.

The Bible is the first religious book to betaken into outer space.

From Genesis 1:1, the astronauts read, “In the beginning God.” And Voltaire said it would be forgotten by 1850?

Christ’s own claims assure us that HisWord could never be forgotten:

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but mywords shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

THE BIBLE IS TRUEThe Bible is the only Book that is accuratein all scientific details. Science textbooks arealmost immediately obsolete because of continuing scientific discoveries. However, the Bible has never been proven incorrect in one scientific aspect.

MEDICAL SCIENCE

Medical science has recently madetremendous advances. But greater progressmay have been made sooner had physicians sought their treatments from the Bible.

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood”(Leviticus 17:11).

HISTORYHistory recorded before the time of Christalso proves biblical truths. Scores of citiesmentioned in the Bible have been located andpositively identified by geographers, historians,and archeologists.

The Bible is the most reliable history of allages. Every detail and account is historicallyaccurate.

ARCHEOLOGYThe more experts search and dig, the morethey affirm the truth of the Bible. Archeology,a science developed in the last two hundredyears, deals with the excavation and evaluationof items found from the ancient past.This is a most fascinating science.Tangible evidence proves that the Bible isindeed accurate and reliable. Bulletins fromevery part of the globe verify the Scriptures.

PROPHECYProphecy, which is the most amazing and valid proof that the Bible is the true, inspired Word of God. The future has always intrigued man.From the earliest days of civilization, methodshave been devised for forecasting in the stars. Countless other means for determining the future have also been attempted, although most are highly ineffective.

Yet the Bible contains precise predictions.Its rate of accuracy has never been equalled.Our Bible contains some 6,000 specific prophecies.

Thousands have already been fulfilled,exactly as given—100 percent accurate!

Considering how experts err in predictingevents only a few days in advance, howutterly impossible it would be for the humanmind to foretell the destinies of nations thousands of years into the future!

During the life of Christ alone, 333prophecies were fulfilled. Actually, theprophets foretold the destiny of practicallyevery existing ancient nation—and in everycase proved correct. Even now, countlessprophetic utterances are being realized. Yes,right now while you are living!

The Bible has proven to be history writtenin advance. It’s like reading tomorrow’snewspaper today!

GOD IS ONE

Throughout the Bible, this messageresounds: God is one. First of all the commandments in the Bible is:

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is oneLORD” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

ISAIAH 43:10-11

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

ISAIAH 44:6

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

ISAIAH 45:21

Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

ISAIAH 46:9-10

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
