SecureConnect™ Overview

• Personnel safety feature that allows operators to disconnect power from a MCC plug-in unit without opening the enclosure door or being in the arc flash boundary1

Provide a safer work environment with SecureConnect

Key Safety FeaturesStab Housing Shutters

• Two sets of shutters for increased electrical isolation– Bus cover and stab housing shutters

• Shutters are only opened when a connection to the Vertical Power Bus is needed

– Provides additional protection of power stabs when unit is removed from structure

• Limit switch provides feedback to indicate the shutters are closed

Mechanical Lock-outs

• When the Disconnect Operator is in the “Off” position, a mechanical lock-out can be applied to prevent the stabs from being placed in the Connected position

• Any standard lock-out tag-out device can be used to secure the lock-out mechanism

• If a lock-out tag-out device is placed on the lock-out mechanism, the door can be opened

• Versatile interlock mechanism designed to make servicing safer

Mechanical Interlocks

Three mechanical interlocks are provided to help ensure safe operation of your SecureConnect units:

Tamper Resistant Interlocks

Stab Withdrawal Interlock – prevents unit from having the stabs Disconnected from the vertical bus while the Disconnect Operator is in the ‘On’ position.

Tool Insertion Interlock – prevents accessibility to the SecureConnect access port while the Disconnect Operator is in the “On” position.

Defeatable Interlock

Unit Insertion & Removal Interlock – prevents unit from being inserted or withdrawn while the stabs are in the “Connected” position.

Remote Operator Option

• Allows you to work outside the arc-flash boundary of the MCC while Connecting and Disconnecting unit stabs

– Provides indication for safe entry back inside Arc Flash boundary– 24 VDC Motor – Allows for operation

up to 30 feet away

Retrofit Capabilities

Protect your investment and continue to support our industry leading design and install base

• Retrofit kits will be available through the Customer Support & Maintenance field service engineers:

– Modification of existing bus covers to new Series P of CENTERLINE 2100 MCC

o Allows you to use existing units along with new SecureConnect units without any other modification

– Labor to remove existing units, support pans, and ground bus, and any additional hardware to modify existing bus covers

• Retrofit kits do NOT include new SecureConnect units– Units must be purchased as a separate item

• Contact your local Rockwell Automation Sales Engineer or Distributor for more information
