Obesity Facts

• 2/3 of adults and 1/3 of children and teens are currently obese or overweight.

• Since 1980, the number of obese adults has doubled.

• Skyrocketing numbers with obese children since 1970– Ages 6-11 x 4– Ages 12 – 19 x 3

Nutrition Deficit Disorder (NDD)

• Nutrition affects a child’s LEARNING, BEHAVIOR, ATHLETISISM & HEALTH

• Thin does not equal healthy• NDD has physical and mental affects
