ensure you are aware of the

To many of you, the Office of

Community Standards is an

office that does not exist. You

have not been able to locate it,

you have no idea what they

do, and you are not sure

anyone works there.

The Office of Community

Standards promotes, trains,

and educates students about

the rights and responsibilities

of its members. We not only

adjudicate violations of the

Student Code of Conduct. We

assist students with the

student grievance process,

giving each member of the

Do You Know Your Rights? Office of Community Standards

community a voice when

they have concerns. Many

students are unaware of the

expectations of the University

and do not know policies

exist to protect their rights. It

is our goal to ensure everyone

knows their rights and to

support you in becoming a

valuable and responsible

member of the CSU family.

For a complete guide to the

Student Code of Conduct as

well as information about a

variety of CSU offices,

policies, and procedures,

refer to your Eagle Guide.

First-year students received a

complementary CSU flash-

drive with the Eagle Guide

PDF. Upper-classmen can go

online at www.coppin.edu to

locate the most current

version of the Eagle Guide

Student Handbook. Be sure

to review your RIGHTS and

RESPONSIBILITIES! If you

have any questions or

concerns, please contact our

office.

Welcome to your “Home

away from Home!” In the

Office of Residence Life, we

offer CSU students the

convenience of living on

campus so that you can take

full advantage of your time

at Coppin. You will find that

living with a diverse group

of individuals, participating

in programs and activities,

and learning how to live

within the guidelines

established for the “on-

campus community” will

Welcome Home Office of Residence Life

provide you with the

opportunity to appreciate

your rights and

responsibilities while growing

as an individual.

This August, we welcomed

625 students into Daley and

Dedmond Halls. Each student

has a Resident Assistant and

Resident Director who can

fully assist with any of their

questions or concerns.

Activities are planned by the

residence hall staff in each

building and cater to your

needs and interests. Check

with your RA to see what

activities are coming up and

don’t forget to read your

handbook!
