The last meeting took place on March 5, 2018 when Morgan State defeated Coppin State 58-51 at the MEAC Tournament in Norfolk, Virginia. - Coppin was predicted to finish ninth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Poll with Chance Graham earning a spot on the All-MEAC 1st Team. - Coppin State finished last season 6-23 while compiling a 5-11 record in MEAC play. The Eagles qualified for the conference tournament as an #11 seed, before falling to #6 seed Morgan State in the first round. - Preseason All-MEAC First-Teamer Chance Graham headlines the returning starters for the Lady Eagles. She had one of the best rebounding seasons in school history in 2017-18, pulling down 309 rebounds, the second-most in school history behind Rene’ Doctor’s 344 in 1995. - Graham notched individual game records as well, as her 34-point outburst against Bethune-Cookman places sixth all-time for points in a game, and her 20-rebound performance against UMES put her in ninth on the list for most rebounds in a game. - Nationally, Graham was among the top 25 players in women’s basketball regarding defensive rebounds per game (7) and rebounds per game (10.7) a year ago. - Coppin returns three players from last year’s squad along with Graham, as Maraiyah Smith and Oluwadamilola Oloyede look to build upon productive freshman and sophomore campaigns, respectively. Redshirt freshman Tsahai Corbie missed all of last season with an injury. - The Navy and Gold will be showcasing a lot of fresh faces this season, with four freshman and three transfers composing the eleven-woman roster. - The transfers include two rising seniors transitioning from the Division II level in Kaiya Coleman (University of the District of Columbia) and Brooke Fields (Roberts Wesleyan) and a junior making the cross-country jump in Adrienne Darden (University of Hawaii). - Coleman, who played under current head men’s basketball coach Juan Dixon in their lone season at UDC, led the Firebirds in free-throw percentage (75.3%) and was second in three-point percentage (31.8%) in 2016-17. - Fields was an efficient shooter for Roberts Wesleyan two seasons ago, pacing the Redhawks in average points per game (15.6) as well as free-throw percentage (83%). She piled up 1,226 points in her three-year stint with the Redhawks, averaging 13.6 points per season.

Inhisfirstseason,Burroughsandhis2016-17women’s basketball team earned the No. 6 seed in the MEAC Basketball Tournament with an 8-8 con-ference record. Freshman center Chance Graham ledtheEaglesinreboundswith244rankingfifthinthe MEAC. Graham was named the 2016-17 MEAC Rookie of the Year and was named to the All-MEAC Third Team and All-MEAC Rookie Team honors. Red-shirt junior guard Genesis Lucas earned All-MEAC First Team honors after ranking in the MEAC’s top-10 in eight statistical categories.
Burroughs, a Coppin State alum, previously was at the University of the District of Columbia where he served as the head women’s basketball coach last season and previously as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UDC from 2011-16.

Brent was an ECC All-Rookie Team selection in 2012, a two-time First Team All-ECC performer in 2013-14 and 2014-15, the 2014-15 ECC Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team Daktronics All-East Region selection. Turner was a First Team All-ECC performer in 2013-14 and a Second Team All-ECC selection in 2014-15. She was also the ECC Tournament Most Valuable Playerin2014.Baldwin-Kollore(CriminalJustice–NewportNews,VA/DenbighHS),whoisoneofninereturningstudent-athletesfromlastyear’srecord-settingsquad,wasan All-ECC Honorable Mention selection last season.
Burroughs’ previous college coaching stops were Chesapeake College and Bowie
State University. While at Bowie State, Burroughs served as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator. He helped guide BSU to two 9th-place Atlantic Region rankings, two Eastern Division titles and two CIAA Finals appearances. Before advancing to the college level, Burroughs served as head coach at Wood-

Starring at Oakland Mills High School in Columbia, Maryland, Grenway led the Scorpionstoa2ARegionalChampionshipandStateSemifinalasajunior.Grenwayaveraged 15.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and nearly two steals per game as she was named Third Team All-State for 1A and 2A schools as well as Honorable Mention All-Met by the Washington Post.
Known for her shooting prowess, Grenway made 64 3-pointers last season at Oakland Mills and played her AAU ball for Team Takeover as well as Team Intensity.
Staying In The dmvSenior transfer Kaiya Coleman was a near double-digit scorer two years ago at Divi-sion II University of the District of Columbia.
