COOLING SYSTEM
COOLING SYSTEM
PURPOSE
• To regulate engines internal temperature.• To remove excess heat from the engine.• To provide heat to the passenger
compartment.
TYPES OF COOLING SYSTEM
• Air cooling system
• Liquid cooling system
LIQUID COOLING SYSTEM
• An liquid cooling system is the collection of parts and substances (coolant) that work together to maintain the engine’s temperature at optimal level.
LIQUID COOLING SYSTEM
LIQUIDE COOLING SYSTEM PARTS
• Water pump• Radiator • Thermostat• Fan• Pressure cap• Hoses• Coolant
WATER PUMP
• A water pump is the simple device that will keep the coolant moving as long as engine is running
RADIATOR
• Radiator is used to cool the coolant delivered from the engine.
THERMOSTAT
• It is a valve which measures the temperature of the coolant.
• If the coolant is hot enough than its allow the coolant to flow and if the coolant is not hot than the flow is block.
THERMOSTAT
PRESSURE CAP
• It is a device which maintains the pressure in the cooling system up to certain point.
COOLANT
• It is the mixture of ethylene glycol and water the ratio is 50-50.
