Buddies in Business
Buddies in Business is a partnership program with
Mack Alive in Detroit. The program teaches young
men and women how to operate and maintain a
business.This year, they have created the business
Detroit Main Squeeze, a lemonade stand operating in
the Eastern Market.

Office of Recruitment and Outreach
The Division of Student Services provides a centralized structure for major functions and processes
throughout the District. Recruitment and outreach is one of the major centralized functions that is
managed by the Division. The months of July and August are peak periods for recruitment an outreach
as many communities look to engage constituents on a broad number of topics.

Student Support Services
TRIO students were invited to participate in
the healthy “brain food” snack items as they
prepared for their final exams. Students are also
encouraged to refer a student to consider
becoming a future WCCCD TRIO student.
Staff continues to assist international
students with services available.
The Recruitment and Outreach team had the opportunity to provide information on programs WCCCD
offers during the Alkebu-Lan Village Family Fun Day and the Arab and Chaldean Festival.

As the Summer 2019 semester draws to a close, the Learning Resource Centers are continuing to
provide instructional sessions throughout the District to help students with final papers,

Education System, Inc.(HESI) workshop. The HESI
test is an assessment of academic preparedness for

The Campus Support Team met for the third installment of VDI technical support training.
A status update meeting was held to discuss
the second phase of the District-wide Student
Computer (VDI) Upgrade.
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) added to the backup generator
• Transition of equipment into new racks
- Connected PDU’s for additional power in racks (in event of power outage and
loss of backup battery)
- Mounted Vertex server in new rack along with Barracuda web filter and firewall devices
- Prepared switch stack for transition into new racks
