GENERAL TERMS OF BUSINESS

Registrations and cancellations have to be me made in writing. All programmes have up to 25 participants. Registrations are taken into account based on the date of arrival at our offi ce. As soon as we receive your registra-tion, we will send you confi rmation. Approximately three weeks before the start of the course you will receive a detailed confi rmation of your registration and an invoice from Contrast Management Consulting & Training S.R.L. (50-52 Buzesti Street, 11th fl oor, 011015 Bucharest, Romania , CUI: RO 17799167, J40/12742/2005).

Participation fee: 4,990 EURO, net of VAT. The respective invoices will add 24% VAT.

Terms of cancellation: Please accept that we charge a cancellation fee of 30% of the total participation fee, for cancellations received within three weeks before the start date of the course. For cancellations we receive within fi ve days before the start of the event, or in case of participants who do not attend the seminars on course days, we have to charge 100% of the participation fee.

Information per fax or e-mail is sent to all companies and persons entering into business relations with the organiser by registering. Unless recipients give written notice otherwise, they agree to receive further information via fax or e-mail.

Controlling (Management Control) is a comprehensive business concept that supports management through control, coordinati-on and consulting. Controlling focuses on safeguarding corpo-rate objectives and value growth.

Controlling means business support for management at all levels of companies, non-profi t organisations and public administration.

Controlling helps identifying and securing fi nancial and other targets in the process of normative, strategic and operational management.

Controlling is responsible for presenting results to internal and external stakeholders.

Controlling ensures timely decisions and implementations and steers a rational management process.

What is Controlling? ParticipantsThe Certifi ed Controller course – the modular controlling programme – is intended for managers, junior managers and employees active in controlling, fi nance and accounting, who want to complete and update their practice experience with an extensive and well-grounded controlling training.

Module 1 – Introduction (3 days)

Controlling and Management

Learn how everything in a business, from individual transactions to the major ratios, is connected and experience the realBUSINESS simulation game. Over several business years you are responsible for a company. You compete over markets and profi ts in project teams, simulate business transactions and use business tools directly. Understand the importance and role of controlling for successfully managing a company.

Module 3a – Controlling Processes (3 days)

Budgeting and Planning

Operative business planning is a complex and interconnected system. Planning, budgeting and reporting have to be linked and must have functioning interfaces. In this seminar you learn how integrated company planning works. In several case studies and workshops, you will practise how the performance budget, the fi nancial plan and the budgeted balance sheet are structured and what factors have to be taken into account in the planning processes.

Module 2a – Controlling Tools (2 days)

Financial Accounting and IFRS

An integrated understanding of fi nancial statements and a profound knowledge of balance sheet ratios facilitate access to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Understand the individual parts of annual accounts, balance sheet and profi t and loss account, as well as cash-fl ow statements as an integrated system and thus arrive at strategic decisions. An integrative case study ensures the practical relevance of the contents and enables the transfer to your company’s practice.

Module 3b – Controlling Processes (2 days)

Reporting and Decision Support

In this seminar you will address all relevant issues and tasks of repor-ting. See how you can design your management reports in an effi cient manner in line with IFRS and fully compliant with the requirements of the recipients. You will learn about the success factors for correct reporting so that your reports become indispensable for the management’s decisions. Structure and graphical design of reports guarantee acceptance and success.

Module 2b – Controlling Tools (3 days)

Management Accounting

A functioning cost accounting system is the basis for focused management decisions. In this seminar you can expand and update your knowledge ready for use in practice. In addition, the potential applications of a cost accounting system that supports decisions are described in detail and innovative methods of cost management are presented.

Module 4 – Leadership and Strategy (2 days)

Strategic Performance Management

The seminar outlines the need of Strategic Performance Management (SPM) as an essential link between Strategy and Operations. It gives insight into a range of tools and methods to establish a SPM system and high-lights major steps of their implementation within your organization. You will be shown how an integrated SPM System works in practice and how it can be interlinked with other management control systems.

Module 2c –Controlling Tools (2 days)

Financing and Investment

In this module you will learn about modern tools of investment and fi nan-cial controlling. Based on numerous practical examples and an integrated case study, you will tackle the following questions: On what assumptions do you base investment decisions? Do you fully exploit the operative potential of your company? How do you evaluate the liquidity of your company?

Module 5 – Programme Capstone (1 day)

Controller Occupation

Use your knowledge in practice immediately and learn in which positions and roles controllers advance within the company. Reports from practice and the exchange of experiences ensure the programme’s success – preparing you ideally for the exam and your career!
