DEFINITIONCausative is used when one thing or person

causes another thing or person to do something.

There are active and passive causative

1. Active Causative

A. HaveS + have + O1 + V1 + O2  

B. MakeS + (make/ made) + O1 + V1 + O2  

C. GetS + (get/ got) + O1 + to V1 + O2  

D. Let S + (let) + O1 + V1 + O2  

2. Passive Causative

S + have/get + O2 + V3 + by + O1

Example1.Does John get the barber to wash his hair

once a week? (Aktif)Does John have his hair washed once a week? (Pasif)

2. You really must get the optician to test your eyes (Aktif)

You really must get your eyes tested (Pasif)

3. She had the gardener cut down the trees in her garden (Aktif)

  She had the trees in her garden cut down (Pasif)

4. He is having someone repair his radio now (Aktif)He is having his radio repaired now (Pasif)

5. They want to get someone to decorate their bedroom (Aktif)They want to get their bedroom decorated (Pasif)
