50-60's symbol of young culture in America along with Marlon Brando
and James Dean. He was built urbane, cynical rebel image and got a
lot of love from movie fans. And unlike other Hollywood movie
stars, he was well know as a clean private life. And he was very
humane person. It can be determined also the reaction of his
neighborhoods when he died. Every residents in Westport said "We
lost a great friend". And everyone in that town raised a mourning
flag.

This film shows the Luke's Resistance against power. During the
drastic social changes in 1960s America, "Luke's Resistance"
plainly shows the conflict between old generation who wants to keep
their vested interests and new generation who needs a new social
order. But the world did not change so easily, and their resistance
quickly subdue by ruthless authority. However, Luke never give up.
He continue to break out the prison, and even he got caught and got
a cruel punishment he still try to escape the prison. As his
colleague howled at the end of the movie, "The world maybe shake a
bit". Anyway, Luke did his resistance till the last moment.

this single script director Stuart Rosenberg trying to express the
