DRAW EXPLANATION

Finals and medal ceremonies will be on both the Saturday (Under 21 Men and Under 21 Women) and Sunday (Men and Women).

Men

x The top 3 teams in each of the four groups will qualify through to the next round where they will form two groups of 6.

x From these two groups the top 2 will go into the semi-finals with the third place in each group playing off for 5th and 6th and likewise 7th and 8th for those finishing fourth in the group etc..

x Overall the top 16 will qualify for the 2016 ICF Canoe Polo World Championships.

Women & Under 21 Men

x The top 2 teams in each of the four groups will qualify through to the next round where they will form two groups of 4.

x From these two groups the top 2 will go into the semi finals with the lower places playing off as  per  the  Men’s  category.

x Women - Overall the top 14 will qualify for the 2016 ICF Canoe Polo World Championships.

SCRUTINEERING INFORMATION

ICF Scrutineering Guidelines

At Scrutineering and during each game, the scrutineers and referees will ensure that all of each teams’   equipment   comply  with   the   ICF  Rules.  All   equipment  must   comply  with   the  2013-2014 ICF Canoe Polo Rules. In particular the following rules are highlighted:

47.1 All players of the same team must have kayaks with decks of the same colour, spray decks of the

same colour, outmost body covering of the same colour, helmets of the same colour and shirts of the

same colour.

Special rules for World Championships

87.1 Trademarks, advertising symbols and words must be identical and in the same position on the deck of the kayaks and clothing of all players.

87.2 Members of a team may have different trademarks, advertising symbols and words below the seam of a kayak.

87.3 Any kayak, accessory, or article of sportswear, which does not comply with the above mentioned conditions will be ineligible for use during a competition. Teams are responsible for ensuring their own equipment meets these rules and regulations.

89.1 The players of a team shall be numbered 1 to 10.

Critical notes

Teams using coloured vinyl to colour their kayaks must ensure the covering of each kayak is of a high quality and will last the duration of the World Championships. All Logos on the deck (above the join line) must be identical. To the left is acceptable, below is not acceptable.

Kayaks must have no sharp edges and bumper strips must be in good condition. Footrest bolts do not need to be taped over unless there are sharp or burred edges.

Helmets must have compliant facemasks and be identical in colour with all stickers, logos and numbers  in  the  same  position  for  all  members  of  the  team.  The  habit  of  “collecting”  stickers  on  the  helmet will not be allowed unless every team member has every sticker in the same position.

Paddles will be checked for sharp edges and minimum dimensions. There is no requirement under the ICF rules for identical looking paddles or logos.

TV COVERAGE

There will be live high definition streaming of the Opening Ceremony, all four pitches on all five days and the associated medal ceremonies - 100% of the games will be covered live!

Four digital signals will be sent to the ICF who will open four different daily sessions on the ICF Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/CanoeKayakTV

A minimum of one camera per pitch will be used.

The links to the live action taking place on the four pitches will be displayed on the Canoe Polo World Championships exclusive playlist on a daily basis and on the ICF dedicated web page and ICF Facebook page. The schedule of the day (list and times of games) will appear just below the live videos so that the users know what they can follow.

At the end of each day, when the competition is over and Youtube broadcast finished the 8-hour daily HD content will be processed (could take up to 12 hours) and viewers will be able to watch all the  action   in   ‘Video  on  Demand’  for free, with direct links to every single game that took place on each pitch.

There will be a minimum of one camera per pitch.
