24 hours Akhanda Kiirtana

2nd JUly: At the village Siddhi-Jeladi, there was 24 hour Akhanda Kiirtan starting from 10-30 AM on 2nd July 2016.

Narayana Seva was also done in this program. More than 800 people were fed.

Naming and first solid food feeding ceremony

On 4th July 2016 there was a naming ceremony with the beginning of taking solid food ceremony as per Ananda

Marga Caryacarya at the Chitmu village. Kiirtan and Narayana Seva was also done.

Survey work for construction of Girls College

On 6 July 2016, surveying work has been done for the construction of Girls College at Uma Nivas, Anandanagar.

3 hours Akhanda Kiirtana and Free Medical camp

10 July: At the village Taherveda, three-hour Akhanda Kiirtan was done. There was Narayanan Seva where more

than 400 people were fed. Also there was a Free Medical Camp. More than 150 patients were treated in

Homeopathy and Allopathy. Both the programmes were organized by Volunteers Social Service, Anandanagar.

Kiirtana Competition in PP Hostel

On 10th July three hours Akhanda Kiirtan competition was done at High School Hostel No. 3 (PP Hostel). Newly

constructed dining hall was also inaugurated at that time.

Naming ceremony at Damrughutu village

On 11th July 2016 a Naming Ceremony was done at Damrughutu as per Ananda Marga Caryacarya with three hour

Akhanda Kiirtan and Narayana Seva.

New Electric connection at Madhu Murchhana, Marga Guru Quarter

Electric connection has been installed at "Madhu Murcchana", the Marga Guru Quarters at

Kaoshiki Anandanagar (Dakshin Pratyanta) by West Bengal State Electricity Board. Also 16 KVA

transformer was installed only for this unit with free of cost.

Three hours Akhanda Kiirtan

On 17 July 2016 monthly Akhanda Kiirtan for 3 hours with Narayana Seva was done at Baba's

Memorial Hall.

Central workers' Inspection at various places of Anandanagar

On 26th July 2016 Central workers visited and inspected Bhairabi Dunguri, Koushiki Rarh

Hostel, Koushiki Junior High School, Bansgarh and Asthi Páhár (Fossil hill).

Margii Visit at Anandanagar

A margii family from Kolkata visited Anandanagar from 27th July to 30th July. They have visited

many important places at Anandanagar.

Food for All programme

On 31 July, there was 3 hour Akhanda Kiirtan with Narayana Seva at the Sulunglahar village. It

was conducted by Ananda Nagar VSS Unit. More than 400 villagers were fed. This is Food For All

program.

Auspicious Arrivals of Shrii Shrii Ánandamuurtijii

in the Holy Land of Ánandanagar

1962 On 21st August, 1962, Shrimatii Prfullakumari Devii, wife of Shii Raghunandan Singhdeo, Prince of

Garhjaypur in the district of Puruliya, gave by registered deed 170.69 acres of land at Mouza

Baglata to the Ánandanagar Pracaraka Samgha.

Foundation stone of the Áshrama at Ánandanagar was laid on 23rd, August, 1962,

Baba received telegram informing him of the gift of land at monza Baglata from Áchárya Pranay kumar

Chattopadhyay, the then General Secretary Ánandamaárga Pracaraka Sangha.

1963 On 31st August, 1963, Baba named the place Ánandanagar. (He wrote in his diary “From today, our

land at mouza Baglata, is named Ánandanagar.”

1964 Baba visited Ánandanagar for the first time on 6th March 1964. He took the Bardhaman Ranchi

Passenger train at Dhanbad to Pundag railway station. He was at Ánandanagar till the 8th March.

On 8th March he laid the foundation stone of A.M.I.T.

He gave a general audience at the verandah of what is now the Upper Hostel. At that time the

building housed a school. The school house is not there now.

Baba came to Ánandanagar again on the 9th April. He came to Kotshila from Gaya by train and to

Ánandanagar from Koteshila. He was at Ánandanagar upto the 11th of April.

1966 Baba’s next visit to Ánandanagar was in early September. There was a general audience at 10 A.M.

in the verandah of the building that is now P.P. Hostel. The subject of discourse was “The secret clue

to Achievement.” At that time the building housed a high school. From there, Baba went for visiting

Ábhá Sevá Sadana. There also, he gave general audience at 11.30 A.M. The subject of the discourse

were: “Three causes of Sin.” In the evening, he initiated two persons as avadhutas.

The first Dharmamahácakra at Ánandanagar was held in the first week of November at A.M. I.T.

House. The night after the Dharmamahácakra, he initiated Áchárya Mohanananda Abadhuta as a

Kápálika.

On 31st December 1966, Baba came to Ánandanagar from Jamalpur by car in the evening. He was at

Ánandanagar till 5th March, 1967.
