In August, our pastor will host a trip to England for the Wesley Heritage Tour with Educational Opportunities Tours. This will be an unforgettable experience and an inspirational one as we trace the footsteps of the founders and leaders of the Methodist movement, John and Charles Wesley. The trip cost is anticipated to be around $3,800 per person and will be finalized soon.

missionsDecember Mission Focus - Helping Our Neighbors at Christmas Offering - Our Missions Committee has set goals to support Open Door ($1,000), Rose Hill UMC ($1,000) and Brown Bag of Columbus ($1,000). The total received will be shared among them. If you feel led to give beyond your regular contribution to Epworth, consider supporting this opportunity. Donations can be made in honor or memory of loved ones through today.2018 Flower Calendar - located in the office window. Sign up today to reserve your special Sunday for $50 an arrangement. Questions or to request a date, call the church office. Tree of Life Memorial - Memorials can be made for members of the Epworth UM or Hamp Stevens UM churches. Fill out a form and return it with your gift made out to Epworth UMC. The minimum donation for an engraved leaf is $50. Forms are in the information rack in the foyer or on our website.Medical Equipment Needed - We collect medical equipment for Epworth folks who may need such items. If you have any equipment, please consider donating. If you need to borrow any items, don’t hesitate to give us a call. Can Recycling - Leave aluminum cans outside the back kitchen door. They will be picked up and recycled by the HIS Group. Money collected will go toward various missions. Bench Project from Recycled Plastic - Collect clean and free-of-metal caps and lids to obtain a bench for the playground. Place them in the container on the Mission Cart or in the kitchen. Thanks to all who participated. We are now collecting caps to make a second park bench. For more info, contact Susan.

Our church is partnered with the Pastoral Institute to offer our people counseling at deep discounts and priority scheduling. This service is such a help to families and individuals. Call the church for more information or give our church name when scheduling an appointment at (706-649-6500). Hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-9 PM, Friday, 8 AM-5 PM. The Pastoral Institute is located at 2022-15th Ave., Columbus.

childrEn & yoUthVolunteers Needed in the Children’s Ministry Children’s Sunday School: 4th Sundays,Children’s Church: 9 a.m.- 2nd Sunday, Children’s Church: 11 a.m.- 4th Sunday, Nursery 11 a.m.: 4th Sunday.Youth Group Selected Indianapolis - for their next mission trip destination in the summer of 2018. given by the friendship class in memory of Jean f. morriswhose generosity and caring spirit made this world a better place.

You may remember a family member or friend, now deceased, on the lasting Tree of Life Memorial that graces the entrance of our Sanctuary. Consider commemorating their life with a leaf placed on this handcrafted piece of art.

Memorials can be made for members of the Epworth United Methodist or Hamp Stevens United Methodist churches. Initiated by the Friendship Sunday School to honor Jean’s life, it is carried forward by Epworth’s Board of Trustees.
