The Meaningful four weeks visit of PAULA PICO PRADAS –Spain in Association for Community Training (ACT) India from July 13 to August

13,2013 through Voluntaries en el mundo, Spain.

Dear Paula,

Good day .This letter finds your good health and pleasure. We are in receipt of what’s ups message and noted the contents and we had a big hope of taking ACT in to progressive way.

Frieda asks you every now and then as she sticks up on your love and affection O.K. we shall share some of local information,

Since you are aware of four categories of caste structure that are made by man in the name of omnipresent god for the sake of their easy living,

The dalits impoverished, down trodden, voiceless communities are still on the street void of enjoying basic amenities. No wonder Politician, law makers vested interested people will not come forward to push the community in to socio-economic empowerment as they are biggest vote bank, predicts the success and failure of Indian politician.

They Vested interested people want the dalits to be uninformative below poverty lined, to maintain the criteria they announces free bies ( free rice, food for work, free wearing , free TV, free gas stove) and so on .

Beggar should be a beggar, shouldn’t be a dignified human being in the ideal policy of vested interested politician. That is why grass route level people like Association for Community Training (ACT) fights against the iron wall.

In spite of 66 years of independence the pitiable life of dalits did not change, and there is no scope of change ,it require third hand support like you this is the case in many countries where octopus millionaire live happily on the back of poor where the cry of poor cannot reach the power structure.

Paula, these are the hardest thing to grasp as you are tender age but to learn more about other countries issues we give you the nutshell, more over you are an enthusiastic, energetic human right crusader definitely your voice for the least cry. We hope you will be a guiding force to ACT.

We here with describe the working schedule of Paula and ACT:

Special arrangements to receive Paula at Chennai International Airport, Warm welcome at ACT by un organised labour’s, women self help Groups ,Small and marginal farmers women’s and representatives of 110 villages

Number of Dalit villages visited :

1.Mugaiyur,2.Thanickalampattu,3.Sengamedu,4.Paranur,5.senagunam, 6.Karanai perichanur, 7.Kandachipuram, 8. Keelvalai,9.Solaganur,10,Kodungal.

Meetings with women viewing ACT’s previous and current project beneficiaries, sharing with unorganized labours .youth association, quarry people (Stone Broken),small and marginal farmers intervention, school children meet are the part and parcel of daily visit.

Wonderful and memorable intervention:

Paula taught the art of storytelling, singing song to be particular preposition ,verb, action ,time, auxiliary verb songs, to every school children. The children sing every now and then that are new to Indian based English medium schools ,the parents are happy when their children sing happy.

Tsunami affected area visit:

Paula had a chance of visiting through ACT the Tsunami affected places lies in east costal belt of Pondicherry and Chennai but it comes under the jurisdiction of Tamilnadu State, India.(example villages,Mudhaliyar kuppam,Anichakuppam)

Dalit leader D.J.Antony Raj ,School, Kandachipuram Visit:

Warm welcome by 800 school children. Paula took storytelling, song inter quash classes.

Master classes:

Dr.Bennet ,Development Consultant ,Yellagiri Hills,

Mr.M.S.sagayaraj, MSW, President, CECODE, (NGO),villupuram Mr.Savari,B.A.BL. Advocate, ,Villupuram district.

Took classes about the local stake holders, force runners on Indian history and back logged dalit life which was highly inspired, grasped by participants.

Cultural Program at ACT:

ACT’s Cultural troupe had staged a cultural program, which aimed at addressing the dalit contribution for developing India. i.e music by single drum, double drum, flutes and legendary street drama, songs of heritage etc…

The Great Paula Birthday:

It was our great privilege to celebrate on 06,08,2013

Extra Class program: ACT premises –Mugaiyur Village:

Extra class program was an excellent job done by Paula it was attended by 65 children aged 6-15 years who are attending the class I to 11 standard curriculum of inputs send here with.

Dalith Liberation Meet:Dalit liberation meet was organised at ACT on 04.08.2013, Paula presided over the meet. Representatives of all villages, catholic dalit fathers of Villupuram district Parishes attended the program..

The program was continuous struggle of seeking constitutional remedy, special reservation for dalith in job and education, the bill is on the table of parliament, to be discused by member of parliament in the winter session and also the need of dalith reservation in job &education in the verdict of supreme court, new Delhi.

Visit to cultural Back grounded Hindu religious worshipping Places:

Visited Temple: Thirukovilur,(Perumal Temple)Thiruvannamalai,(Annamaliyar Temple) Thiruvamuthur,(Sivan Temple) Parthasarthy temple,Chennai. Purpose of Visit: The legendary poet and Indian freedom fighter Bharathiyar stayed at this temple to be safe from British search.

Tourist spots:

Historical beauty and monuments are visited by Paula on our request it was to reduce the mental tension of hard working at ACT we arranged the program.

Power Point Presentation Initiatives:

Paula ,Raj, Synthiya, Valan, Frieda did a wonderful job, consolidated the 30 year of walk of social innovation of ACT and prepared a Power point presentation .Paula has the soft and hard copies .

Toward the future development of the ACT :

we have evolved the following intervention which would be materialised by yours effect.

Program 1: Facilitation of continuous interested volunteers to ACT.

Program 2: Poverty alleviation Income Generation Program of 110 village women who hailed from poor state connecting Local environment.

Program 3: Guiding + Helping hapless rural unemployed youth through starting a vocational Education program.

Program 4: To set up multi farming in ACT land which would be supporting source of economical development of landless and small and marginal farmers.

Program 5: Preparation of a news letter in Spanish and addressing the need of ACT to likeminded people at your place.

Program 6: To open an office at your home as a unit of ACT, India.

Program 7: Mutual cultural exchange to promote cultural contribution of both countries.

Program 8: Vehicle Support to go around 110 target villages and to render qualitative service to the far off village of remote in nature.

Program 9: To take the extra classes for Mugaiyur children as permanent one through appointing a teacher who will be paid 60 euro per month.

Program 10: Providing regular physiotherapy support to FRIEDA, a victim of non – curable Muscular Dystrophy – remuneration to physiotherapist.

Synthiya, President of ACT:

Mrs. Synthiya, president of ACT met an accident unfortunately which was disadvantage to her job (salary lose), but she was helpful to Paula to guide, translate in the field. 30 days of leave was helpful to Paula.

Conclusion:

Association for Community Training (ACT) has hopes of future initiatives on Paula, who can use the power point presentation to like minded people who wants to come forward on our cause.

Please do think Frieda’s need as the toppest priorities. We have strong hope that Paula can do successful project to ACT that would be speaking glorifying the name of our friend.
