MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-April 2016 1. 2 additional teachers have been recruited at NIT centre as a stop gap arrangement to conduct classes for 2 months during summer vacations. Rajen Sir who is also a faculty at our MIG Centre will take English Language classes and Navin Sir will take charge of Maths and Social Science classes. 2. Sankalp spread its area of support of sponsoring complete educational fee of children to its out location centres such as Dhanbad and Jamui & Banka. Following students were sponsored from both the centres a. Niraj Kumar-S/O Mukesh Manjhi (Jamui) b. Bimal Kumar-S/O Guja Manjhi (Jamui) c. Muskaan Kumari-D/O Sudhir Ravani (Dhanbad) d. Sumit Kumar Yadav-S/O Balmiki Yadav (Dhanbad) e. Arti Kumari _D/O Surendra Yadav (Dhanbad) 3. A total of 65 students were admitted in different schools of the city. The complete break up of children and related expenses is mentioned in our Finance report April 216 4. Sankalp received a huge support of Rs. 5 lacs from SN Bearings. We extend our sincere thanks to SN Bearing CSR Team for their valuable support to our cause. 5. Sankalp in association with TML Drivelines and United Form for Health and Environment sponsored the complete fee of 21 children enrolled at Our Telco Centre, near Bantangar a. The students were selected on the basis of their performance in Common tests at centres and attendance. 6. Sankalp inaugurated its 12 th National Centre at Chatra Block, Post Paraikila, Village -Giriya. The centre provides free of cost tuition facility to 10 children and is managed by Sarika Mishra 7. Sankalp inaugurated its 13 th National Centre at Sirsiya Block, Giridih on 1 st May 2016. The centre provides free of cost tuition facility to 60 children and is managed by Abhivyakti Foundation, a local NGO a. Most of the centres are in geographically disadvantaged and unreachable areas. They can be classified as ultra-rural areas. This is a perfect ground to enter into such areas and light the lamp of education. b. Enrolling children at our centres have pulled them out of the miseries of child labour and ensured that they receive proper education at our centres. c. The team expressed its gratitude towards Sankalp as being the only NGO which is finically support its initiatives in Bihar 8. Sankalp president interacted with various NGOs , panchayat members in Girididh and assured them of all possible support in social movements to ban alcohol in the state of Jharkhand 9. This is the 4 th collaboration of Sankalp with an NGO after Pahal, Empowered Kids Foundation and United Forum for Health and Environment 10. Common tests at all centres are now being held successfully. Marks are recorded for all students and analysis is done to identify students with poor performance. 11. Summer vacations dates have been announced at all centres considering the heat waves and students relief 12. Rajneesh, our centre teacher at Aashiyana has started taking classes for Navodaya preparation 13. Sankalp Team will conduct a PR cum awareness session at Chhayanagar & Chandinagar Basti, near Mango Bus Stand. The basti houses around 700-800 families and educational levels and enrolment are extremely low 14. Aakash, a second year volunteer of Sankalp, who is keen on penning blogs about Sankalp , will write and regularly post his articles on Sankalp FB page and website

15. Sankalp volunteers campaigned in Bishtupur and Sakchi Area of Jamshedpur to build awareness about Sankalp and attract sponsors. The activity was a success we received calls from many new sponsors and donors after the flex were put in different shops and restaurants.
16. To maintain the child: student ratio at our Madhepura Centre, an additional teachers has been recruited to take classes
17. Sponsorship Team did a commendable job when it convinced seniors from 2k11 batches to sponsor child from this academic year
18. Pahal- EK Nayi Soch , our partner in Bihar, and its team is working extremely hard and driving literacy plans with zeal and passion
19. Monitoring of the classes, the attendance and quality have been made more strict a. Frequent visit by President and other volunteers to stabilize the centre b. Regular report of the syllabus completed and lessons taught at the centre is
monitored thru Whatsapp group c. Pics of the classes are shared online
20. Prizes were distributed to all children at our Imli Chauk Centre who had topped and bagged first three positions in CT 3

22. Sankalp Students participated in various activities like Quiz and Drawing Competition organized by Ojass Team in the Annual Techno Mgmt festival of NIT
a. Selected students were awarded by Ojass Team . b. Top3 students were selected from all the centres and prizes were given to
appreciate their hard work and healthy participation 23. Navodaya preparation batch has started classes at our Aashiyana Centre. Rajneesh, our
centre teacher has identified 5 bright students from the centre and started mentoring them for next year exams
a. Copies were distributed to all students at the centre b. Extra copies were given to students of navodaya batch c. Hindi Vyakarana text book and navodaya guides were distributed to the relevant
batch d. Rajneesh would be paid an extra amount as a component of the salary (Rs. 1000 per
month) and Rs. 500 would be given as room rent for the room hired for running re navodaya batch
24. Copies of Sanjeevani have now been given to teachers at all centres. The syllabus has been formed by compiling the Basic minimum syllabus of all boards and aspires to achieves for all students a basic Minimum academic level
25. Pending action over Decisions taken at the Annual Conclave and Annual General Meeting 2016
a. No new centres would be established in the next one year unless funds are assured or a centre is adopted-New centre has been established in Giridih as funds were available
b. A reserve fund now to be created as a part of monthly donations. It should be in the range of 5%-10% of the monthly incoming cash flow.-In process
c. Eye catching stories of transformation in the lives of Sankalp Children and their families to be captured in articles by benchmarking with Smile Foundation Blogs, TBI, TLI articles. Web Team to be in charge of this activity-Second Year Team led by Aakash will soon start this activity
26. With a view to reach out to more no of like mind people and arrange sponsors for the needy children, we plan to massively advertise our efforts and future plans thru campaign like putting flex at market places and desk flex at important offices in Jamshedpur.
27. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special mention was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making the different activities successful
28. Both Sankalp-A pledge to change and Sankalp Volunteers group FB page noted huge hike in likes and membership over the month
29. Sankalp saw a huge rise in daily requests for addition to its FB Page of Sankalp Volunteers group Thanks to all the Volunteers and well-wishers for your continuous support and wishes.
