What is?Drug is any substance, natural or synthetic which, introduced into the body modifies its functions. Natural drugs are obtained from certain plants, animals and some minerals. Example caffeine (coffee), nicotine (found in tobacco), opium (the poppy) and THC tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana). Synthetic drugs are manufactured in the laboratory, requiring for that special techniques. The term drug, lends itself to various interpretations, but often raises the idea of a prohibited substance, illegal and harmful to the individual use, modifying its functions, sensations, mood and behavior.

Drugs are classified into three categories: stimulants, depressants and disturbing mental activities. The term drug involves analgesics, stimulants, hallucinogens, barbiturates and tranquilizers, besides alcohol and volatile substances. Psychotropic, are drugs that have tropism and affect the central nervous system, modifying the psychic activity and behavior. These drugs can be absorbed in several ways: by injection, by inhalation, orally, intravenous injection or applied via rectal (suppository).

Codependency is an emotional illness that was "diagnosed" in the United States around the 70s and 80s, a clinic for drug addicts by meeting their families. However, with the advances of studies of the causes and symptoms, which are many, we reached the conclusion that this disease affects not only the families of drug addicts, but a large number of people whose behavior and reactions to life are a means of survival.

Codependency

Page 10: Consequências e Tipos de Drogas

The addicts are those who live according to the other (s) (the), making these the reason for their happiness and well being. They are people who have low self-esteem and intense guilt. Live trying to "help" others, forgetting, most of the time, to live their lives, among other attitudes of self-effacement. What will characterize the patient is the degree of neglect of his own life due to the other and insane behavior.

Page 11: Consequências e Tipos de Drogas

The codependency can also be fatal, causing death by depression, suicide, murder, cancer and others. Although there is on death certificates the term codependency, it is often the triggering agent of very serious illnesses. But we can reverse this situation, adopting healthier behaviors. The professionals point out that the first step toward change is to be aware and accept the problem.

How Drugs circulate in the body

Page 18: Consequências e Tipos de Drogas

The drugs circulate predictably the body and gain greater speed and range from the moment they enter the bloodstream.Blood flows from the tissues to the heart through the veins. Heart, he goes to the lungs to get oxygen and release carbon dioxide. The blood back then to the heart through the arteries, carrying with it the drug.

Drugs can give administered orally, inhaled through the nose or inhaled into the lungs. They can also be injected through the skin, a layer of fat, muscle or into a vein (intravenously). Intravenous injection is the pathway that produces the fastest effects.
