Connor Martin The task that I had been set to do was to create a level in Unity and create our own assets and textures and make a game with our own things, the game can be what we like and the final product doesn’t have to be a finished game just an invironment that we can walk around and look at the textures and assets that we had created and used. The first thing I did was I placed a first person controller into my level and created the basic terrain that would be the main part of my level and I would build onto it to create my environment. This menu allows me to change many of the aspects that come with the first person controller, for exapmle the height, co- ordinates of the controller, the speed that the controller moves at, the speed that you can look about with etc.

The task that I had been set to do was to create a level in Unity and create our own assets and textures and make a game with our own things, the game can be what we like and the final product doesn’t have to be a finished game just an invironment that we can walk around and look at the textures and assets that we had created and used.
The first thing I did was I placed a first person controller into my level and created the basic terrain that would be the main part of my level and I would build onto it to create my environment.
This menu allows me to change many of the aspects that come with the first person controller, for exapmle the height, co-ordinates of the controller, the speed that the controller moves at, the speed that you can look about with etc.

I then created a basic terrain that I improved on to make my environment a playable area, I added different playable areas so there was a variety to my level and added a few assets to make my level a bit more like a game.
There were a lot of tools that I could I use and they helped me achive the enrionment I wanted for my game.

I then added a skybox which covered the entire of my sky for my environment and it was a sunny day skybox which I wanted for my game so I could make my game a bit more lighter and have a happy feel to it.
I could change a few settings with my skybox like which one to add and if I wanted fog in my environment, these were good settings that I could change but I didn’t change them in my game.

I then started to texture my terrain to fit the astethetic of my game, I wanted an out door like game with a lot of walking so I chose grass and dirt textures to fit my game and painted them to fit my environment.
I could chose from many textures and change some aspects of it like the opacity and the size of the terrain I wanted to paint, these settings helped create the terrain I wanted for my game.

I then added a few little details to a part of my map like trees and grass, they were individual objects so I could change a lot of aspects of the object and manipulate the objet in a way that fit the look of my envirnoment.

I added a water asset to my level, I chose the day water to fit in with my environment and changed the overall size of the water asset to fit the pond that I had created.
I added a little effect to the asset to make it look like the water was moving and looked more realistic.

I then created the main playable areas in my level, I used assets from the assets store that was available to me and to help get the game look that I was trying to create.
I varied my level between cartoony and queit detailed, each asset has got a collider on it so whemn I walk into it I stop, I don’t go through it and overall I am happy with the overall look of my playbale ares in my level.

Finally I added little dteials to make my game look a bit better and more realistic, I added an animation to a butterfly that I placed into my level, it doesn’t move around the level but it animates in place and I think that makes it look a lot better than being a static figure,
I also added a fire effect to a camp fire that I placed in my level to make it look like a fire was actually burning and the effect looks great in my game.
