Entry Level Training Process – Summary The Entry Level Training Process is a combination of an On-Line Training Course to be completed at your own pace and once completed registration and attendance to (1) in-person/in-class session of 5 hours. The registration for the online portion of Session #1 will start on approximately 7/10/2017 and be open through 8/31/2017 with the required in-person sessions starting approximately August 5 th and ending on September 10 th . Session #2 will begin on 1/15/18 thru 3/31/18 with the required in person sessions starting the middle of February and running through April 7 th . There will be at least one in-person session most weekends in various areas of the state. New Referee Candidates: Referee candidates that are not in the CSRP database will create a new account via an on-line, onetime process. Once the account has been created you will use the “eReferee Login” on the left hand side of the CSRP home page https://www.ctreferee.net to access your account. The first portion of the Entry Level Training Process will be the web-based “On-Line Training Course”. All Entry Level candidates must pass the “On-Line Training Course” with 100% accuracy on the final 50 question test before they can proceed to the registration of the 5 hour in person session. During the in-person session of Entry Level Training Process you will learn the mechanics of officiating, (how to use the flags, run the lines, inspect a field for safety etc.), and review Laws 5, 6, 11 and 12. You will have a choice of dates and location for the in person session. You can find a list of those sessions on the event calendar on the left hand side of www.ctreferee.net listed as entry level in class, click on the link next to the session to get more detail about the session such as exact location, number of spots available etc. However, you can’t register until the online portion of the entry level is completed. Please order a uniform kit as soon as you register, information on ordering is in the detail below. Existing Referees who have not Recertified: Referees that have had a lapse in their Recertification or you failed your current Recertification Process will be able to officiate after successful completion of all requirements for the Entry Level Training Course. Before you can sign-up you MUST request permission from the CSRP Office to take the Entry Level Training Course; e-mail the CSRP Office at [email protected]and provide your First Name, Last Name, and date of birth as it exists in the CSRP database. For the officiating year 2018 Entry Level Registration will be offered in (2) sessions:

All "On-Line" requirements and attending the 5 hour in person session (In-Class review of Laws 5, 6, 11
and 12 and field session the Entry Level Certification must be successfully completed to be certified as a
Referee Grade 8.
If all the requirements are not completed in the "Fall" session Entry Level candidates may continue to
complete their requirements in the "Entry Level Session #2 – 1/15/18 thru 4/7/18".
All Entry Level candidates that register for the "Entry Level Session #2 – 1/15/18 thru 3/31/18" must
complete all the requirements by 4/07/18, there will be no extensions or refunds.
Any in-class session(s) not completed in the 2nd (Spring) session will require the Entry Level candidate to
start a “NEW” Entry Level process from the beginning if they decide to do so. There will be no continuation
of the Entry Level process beyond the (2) sessions in the same certification
year.

New Referee Candidate Registration
The following steps document how a new Referee candidate creates an online account using the
three step process.
On the left side of the screen, select “eReferee Login”. Scroll toward the bottom of the page, and
locate the section circled below, and click the label.
On the first screen, fill in the information identified below with the red arrows. Leave the USSFID field blank, you will be assigned one by the United State Soccer Referee program after your certification is complete. You create the user id and password, this is what is used going forward to log into the system. Many users will use their last name and first initial as a user name, and a password that you can remember. The “password” and “confirm password” fields must be typed exactly the same. Case is significant in the password fields. Click the “Next Step” button when complete.
Important – Please Note: The Connecticut State Referee Program uses email extensively to communicate information, including Recertification timelines, clinics, information concerning Referee assignments and opportunities, as well as many other important communications. It is important that you regularly check your email account for information and keep the e-mail address on your profile up to date. All mass communication is sent only to the primary e-mail.

On the next screen, again fill in the information identified below with the red arrows. Click the “Next Step” button when complete. Select the slider to identify your gender, fill in your street address, and select the town and zip code from the dropdown.
Note: Referees who are under 16 years of age MUST use their parent’s/guardian’s email address as the primary contact!!!
Enter the primary email address, retype the primary email address to confirm it in the next field, and supply an alternate email address as appropriate. The alternate address should be that belonging to the Referee if you are under the age of 16. Provide you cell phone and home address, and hit the record button at the bottom of the screen.

On this screen, you are asked if you have ever been convicted of a crime of any kind. Background checks are run on all individuals over the age of 19, so be honest and truthful. Fill in the screen as appropriate, and hit the Update button.
Now you have created your online account and are ready to continue the certification process on
the same session when you create a new account. Any time from then on, login to the system
without creating a new account from the eReferee Login link on the left hand side of the homepage
of http:// www.ctreferee.net.
After you have finished the process above you are now considered an “Existing referee (or user)”. Type in the user name and password that you provided on the first registration screen above, then click the “Login” button. If you cannot remember it, click the “Get ID or Password” button.
