LUDACRIS BOTTLE SIGNING IN PENNSYLVANIA Bottoms Up
Ludacris signs bottles of his Conjure Cognac at a Wine and Sprits Store October 27, 2010 in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
The Mediterranean manse tucked behind gates in Miami Beach is now formally known as the House of Conjure -- at least while rapper/actor/entrepreneur Chris ``Ludacris'' Bridges stays there.Ludacris, here for the business and pleasure of Super Bowl, introduced his new Conjure cognac to a set of tastemakers in the rented home this week. He created the spirit with Birkedal Hartmann, a Norwegian-owned Cognac producer, from a blend of some 40 distinct brandies.``It's fine and rich. It's smooth going down the throat and mixable, which is why a lot of women like it,'' he says of the cognac, priced at about $34 a bottle. ``As soon as people taste it, it seems to take on a life of its own.''Ludacris, already a cognac drinker, made the trek to a region in France to help create his brand, then tested the markets in Georgia and -- not surprisingly -- Florida.``You know this is a place with a lot of energy and a lot of parties,'' he says, laughing. ``People here love to have a good time.''Twenty-four hours later, the Grammy-winning rapper hosted a listening party at House of Conjure, for his seventh solo album, Battle of the Sexes, set to be released March 9.``I wanted to do something different, I wanted to look at stuff from a male and female perspective,'' he says. ``There's a whole lot of back and forth.''So there you have it: Luda versus R&B singer Monica (his cousin), Lil' Kim, Eve and Nicki Minaj.---- AUDRA D.S. As if hit records and a role in an Academy-award winning film aren't enough, Ludacris has now conjured up a cognac to celebrate those accolades."It's way better than Hennessy," Luda said.
Clutching two bottles of his cognac, Conjure, Ludacris said he can't wait for the Super Bowl. The Gamer star, who will release his seventh album Battle of Sexes in March, is ready to party Miami-style. On Wednesday afternoon, he's co-hosting a pool party at the Fontainebleau and later that night a soiree with Ray Lewis at Christine Lee's inside Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach...
Whether you're looking for great reads, fast rides or fly trinkets, BV Buzz has always kept you hooked up with things that we just love. We're not the only ones who apparently have fine taste either.Rap superstar Ludacris expanded his empire with the launch of his first spirit brand, Conjure, a Cognac done in partnership with Norwegian-owned Birkedal Hartmann. "I went to Cognac and blended it myself from 14 different samples," said the hip-hopper.Ludacris isn't the only one with a hands-on approach. We've put everything showcased to good use as well...
Rappers aren’t generally known for their subtlety. Ludacris is no exception, rapping about his frequent conquests, fleet of luxury cars and sizable bank account. But offstage, Luda is surprisingly all about “sophistication and presentation” when it comes to drinking. It’s a philosophy epitomized by his new cognac Conjure ($33), which comes in an understated, classy, cylindrical bottle. The packaging doesn’t even mention “Ludacris.”
Chris Bridges offers more than mere ‘rapper cognac’ to the playing field. At first passing glance the bottle appears to have artistic minuscule designs wrapping the glass. Peering closer you’ll find the most obvious nuance that this cognac is conjuring up subtle, yet innovative marketing for a brand definitely thrusting itself beyond tradition. These stylized markings are that of women’s curvaceous figures reminiscent of the widely recognized Trademark Playboy bunny figure or any number of women silhouetted in the opening credits of many of the original James Bond movies; classy, sexy, yet leaving the imagination to conjure up the rest.
