IT IS GREENER AT HOTEL PLAZA QUÉBEC

In order to respect the environment, Hotel Plaza Québec is turning green.

To fulfill our social responsibility, we are now placing environmental concerns at the forefront of our business activities. Therefore, we are constantly taking actions that contribute to reduce our ecological footprint, for the benefit of present and future generations.

SPECIFICALLY, WE HAVE:

- Joined the Green Key Eco-Rating Program from the Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) and obtained four Green Keys;

- Included a “green component” to the executive board’s agenda;

- Set the printers to duplex printing to encourage paper saving;

- Reduced our daily paper consumption by encouraging electronic documents and by recycling scrap paper into notepads;

- Implemented recycling bins (paper, cardboard, glass, plastic) in our hotel rooms and function rooms;

- Installed water-efficient toilets in all our hotel rooms;

- Replaced most incandescent bulbs with energy-efficient bulbs;

- Set the room temperature to 18°C in the summer and 21°C in the winter to save energy;

- Implemented a new policy to clean sheets and towels on demand during stays;

- Replaced sugar packets by bowls of sugar cubes (upon request);

- Replaced creamer cups by pitchers of cream and milk (upon request);

- Replaced flip charts by dry-erase boards with erasable markers (upon request).
