Well I'm Michael (Mike) Sandala, Abigail's father. Ever since the fall 2012 when we joined the club, I decided to be very ac-tive and supportive of my Big RedHead and the club. The Kiefers helped and are still supporting my growth in the sport and the club, by heading up our officiating classes and deck work. I'm not a person to talk or show off what I have, but instead let my actions show what I can do. Most of my experience and passion comes from my profession as a firefighter and how I was raised as a military brat. I'm a open book and will answer any questions that are asked to me. I believe I will continue to make this club the best club to be a part of. We've had a lot of great members in the past and I continue to carry their work and help for the future of our kids and club. I hope this shows you a little about me and if not just look for the redheads and I'm the ugly one standing next to them. Please be active and supportive of your kids and our club. Without you our club would not be here. Thank you!

Hello, my name is Melisa Gerber and I am the proud mother of a Silver Team Member. My family has only been a part of the program for about a year and watching how he has progressed with ACST, is amazing! I am sending in my bio, in hopes of becoming a bigger part of ASCT and continue the success of this program. I have been a part of team sports since I was 5 years old. After, I was no longer able to participate as an athlete, I took part in the coaching process and eventually into the inner workings of running a team sport organization. I also have a Bachelors in Business Communication and a Masters in Psychology.

There are many things that I find work with the organization but have many ideas that can bring our organization closer to-gether. I know how important families are to making an organization successful and having the team families take more part in the organization would help in building this organization. I also believe to make our team more unified, implementing something as easy matching swim uniform will bring our kids even closer together as a team. Along with making our organi-zation look very sharp, when we attend meets.

I see an amazing future ahead for ACST and do not see my family going anywhere as my son continues his swimming ca-reer. I would love for the opportunity to share my ideas with you and the team, to help ACST grow and become a dominating force within Indiana for swimming. I am happy to talk and meet with each of you and hope that you consider a new fresh face with exciting ideas as a Board Member with ACST!

Becky Byron Bio [say that three times real fast :-)]

A little about me….. I was born and raised in Northern California, competing in multiple sports that were available within the small schools I at-tended. While competitive swimming wasn’t offered, I was able to excel at other sports such as volleyball, softball, basketball and equestrian. During high school I also developed an interest and appreciation in law enforcement, which led me first into volunteering with the Hayward police department as a police Explorer and then working with the Federal Bureau of Investiga-tion doing foreign counter intelligence (FCI) surveillance as part of the Special Surveillance Group (SSG). While finishing my dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Information Technology, I was recruited and subsequently hired by Eli Lilly where I’ve spent the last 20+ years managing teams that support our business partners. I met my husband Kevin (Brownsburg Firefighter) here in Indy 18 years ago, and we have 2 wonderful children Aidan (12) and Riley (11). Why I’d like to join the Board….. About a year ago, our daughter Riley started expressing an interest in learning to swim which led us to join ACST. As she progressed through the groups (currently Silver) I found myself as a swim parent excited for what the sport and ACST was giving to my child and wanting to give back to help our club be the best in can be for our swimmers. I’ve been a swim official for about a year which has provided me the opportunity to educate myself on swimming rules and regulations. As a member of the board I believe I can bring a “new to swimming” perspective, helping our club excel at things such as new parent orien-tation and documented criteria for swimmers moving to each group. I believe by partnering with our coaches we can help our swimmers have the best experience possible.

Save the date! This December 11 and 12 Team USA will take

on the European All-Stars in Indianapolis at the IUPUI pool!

Team ticket orders have already been submitted, but individual

tickets for this event will be on sale soon.

Please note that this is the same weekend as the MAKOS meet

in Oxford, OH, which is a focus meet for the Gold, Platinum and

Senior groups. Bronze and Silver swimmers are encouraged to

attend the Duel in the Pool.

Kroger Community Rewards As many of you know, the Kroger Community Rewards program changed the way

rewards are processed in January of this year. ACST no longer receives an item-

ized statement of the rewards earned per family. Instead, Kroger sends the club a

quarterly check based on the total amount of rewards earned by those who have

registered their Kroger Plus card with ACST. If you would like for your Kroger rewards to be applied

as a credit toward your account, you must send a copy/screenshot of your quarterly rewards state-

ment to [email protected] or you can submit a hard copy using the lock box at the pool. You can

find the Account Summary of your most recent rewards statement at www.kroger.com/

communityrewards or by using the Kroger app on your phone.

If you are interested in earning Kroger Rewards as a credit toward your ACST fees, please register

your Kroger Plus card with ACST. For instructions on how to do this, select ’New Kroger Savings’

under the Scrip tap on the ACST website homepage.

Vanessa Santiago The ACST Board would like to thank Vanessa Santiago for registering her volunteer hours at the ACST AquaSprints meet with her employer,

Quintiles. Her company matched her hours and will be sending ACST a check for $150!

Congratulations to

Chandler Bray!

Chandler competed in the 2015 Phil-lips 66 National Championships in San Antonio, TX, August 6-10. He set new Indiana Association Rec-ords for 15-16 Boys 100 (1:01.79) & 200 (2:14.17) Breaststrokes. Chan-dler was also selected to represent Team USA at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Singa-pore, August 24-30!
