On December 3, students from Ocean City, Buena, Hammonton, Holy Spirit, Lower Cape May Reg. Mainland Reg., Middle Township, and Pleasantville High School joined together to participate and perform in the Atlantic Cape Honor Band Concert held at Lower Cape May Regional High School. The students were outstanding, the directors were proud, and the audience members enjoyed a wonderful concert.

Mrs. Georges’ Advanced Anatomy & Physiology class was treated to a visit from

local orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Bradford Tucker and medical supplies purveyor Mr. Chuck Lehman. We were able to learn about the process of becoming an orthopedic

surgeon as well as shoulder anatomy. Next students were able to perform a laparoscopic rotator cuff repair on a model shoulder. We may have some amazing surgeons in our midst!

Key Club’s big project for December was our second annual Holiday Drive for Head Start in Ocean City where we “adopted” 17 local students. Key Club Officers and Class Representatives each had a group of 8-10 general members with a total of 9 groups; each group was given one girl and one boy from Head Start, ages 3-5. The Key Clubbers gave their own funds and time to go shopping for toys and clothing for their families. Various items included a Melissa and Doug crafts, an art easel, American Girl doll, and different art manipulatives. Officers brought the gifts to Head Start and were able to meet all of the children, as well as some of the parents when they were picking up their child. The parents and children were genuinely thankful to Key Club for making their Christmas even brighter.
