SCHEDULE CHANGES
Student schedules for the 2015-2016
school year will be available to view in
ParentsWeb by June 19. Parents will be
notified by email when access to view
schedules is available.
Please note that schedules are
tentative and not official until
August 9th. Many changes are made
over the summer months, so we ask that
you wait until Sunday, Aug. 9 to print a
copy of the schedule for your student to
bring on the first day of class. The
tentative schedule does, however, guaran-
tee your student the subjects scheduled;
the hour and/or teacher may change, but
the subject will not.
If there is a mistake on the schedule, the
student needs to repeat a class, or the
student earns the score for an honors or
dual enrollment class from June ACT
testing, you may email Mrs. Heintz with
the change request at [email protected].
Or, you can request a change in person
on July 27-29 from 10:00 AM to noon in
Room 19 on campus. We do NOT
change schedules to accommodate stu-
dent/parent preferences for teachers or
classes with friends.
MATH - TenMarks As the 2014-2015 school year comes to a close,
the math department at Teurlings Catholic High School wants all
students to relax and enjoy summer vacation. With that said,
we also want our students to come back in the fall not having
forgotten everything they learned in math the previous year, ready
to face the challenge of a new academic year.
Last summer, Teurlings offered an optional, free, online, summer
math enrichment program called TenMarks. This
program is designed for students to work on assignments at their
own pace to reverse summer learning loss and build a strong
foundation in basic math skills. This program is again optional and
free this summer; however, an incentive will
be offered to students who complete the minimum requirements of
18 certificates. A grade of 110/100 will be your student’s first
math grade for the first quarter of the
2015-2016 school year.
During the first week of school, your student’s math teacher
will ask for a printed report card from TenMarks. This is to be
turned in to receive credit. There is no partial credit, so
students must finish the program to receive the grade. The amount
of time it takes to complete the 18 certificates will
vary from student to student.
Please note that as the parent/student creates the account,
TCHS math teachers and administrators cannot access your
individual account at TenMarks. If you have technical problems,
there is a toll free number to call for assistance.

RENWEB has it all….. Parents are reminded that student
information regarding academics (grades/conduct), tardies (morning
and classroom), attendance (absences, checking/out), and behavior
(violations/sanctions) are all but a few clicks away in RenWeb. A
parent can literally check to see whether a student is tardy to
each class throughout the day.
UNIFORM POLICY Please see RenWeb’s
“Resource Documents” for
the uniform policy for the
2015-2016 school year.
All new students and parents are invited to attend TCH Student
Council’s
Rebel Rumble on August 8, 1:30-4:00 PM. Students will receive a

High student. Parents will be oriented about what to expect from
their freshman student and from TCH.
Following Rebel Rumble, the
New Student Liturgy will be held in the TCH Gymnasium at 4:00

IMPORTANT NOTICE
We Won! Teurlings Catholic faced off against St. Thomas More
Parish
School in Houston, TX in a “Recycling Rumble,” Feb. 1–Apr. 17,
2015, to raise money by recycling through Funding Factory’s
recycling program. Since 2011, TCH has raised over $2,400 in cash
and rewards by recycling empty laser and inkjet printer
cartridges and used cell phones with FundingFactory. The results
are in and we won with a
score of TCH-562/STM-37. We placed 14th out of 532 schools and
businesses.

June Wish List Our wish list contains items requested by
teachers, moderators, and coaches that would be helpful to them in
the classroom or on the field or court as they guide and teach our
students. These items, although helpful and useful, are not covered
by the school’s budget. Donation checks should be made payable to
Teurlings Catholic with the purpose written on the memo blank of
your check. If you can assist, please contact Mrs. Aline Norwood in
the Development Office at [email protected] or 235-5711 Ext. 105.
Mr. Jed Hebert requests ten (10) Fire HD 6 Tablets which would
allow his World Geography students immediate access to up-to-date
information from around the world, i.e., Google earth maps, AP
News, CNN, etc. Fire tablets provide transformative educational
experiences for students with its superior reading experience and
time-saving study features such as search, highlighting, notes,
flashcards, and X-ray. Cost $100/each Mrs. Vivica Marino (English),
Mrs. Carrieanne Ledet (English) and Mrs. Linda Doherty (Social
Studies) would like 4-5 Stand2Learn desks for each of their
classrooms (15 total). Recent research showed that the children in
stand-biased desks maintained better postures, more energy, and
increased focus and behavior. The result for students is better
attitudes and improved academic outcomes. Cost $200/each
For the past decade, the Appeal for Enhancement of Technology
has enabled Teurlings Catholic to excel in the global community by
providing our students with
state-of-the-art vehicles of communication. Our goal is to
receive 100% participation from TCH parents, grandparents, pastors,
volunteer boards, advisory council, faculty, and staff. When we all
share in the commitment to improving our school, we all enjoy
the benefits and successes of our children!
Funds are designated to upgrade our wireless network capacity
with 40 Aruba IAP 205 access points with a wireless controller.
There is also need for two mobile computer labs with 30 stations
each. Our current computer labs 0 & 1 will be used this fall as
English/Fine Art/Yearbook classrooms next year so there won't be a
free standing lab on campus for outside classes to use. The new
mobile computer labs would provide that access. They will be
located in our technology office and available for teachers to
check out from Leslie Bergeron
