DAVID & YUGE BROMLEY Bromley & Co.WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE?I’ve never been able to put into words what it is that makes a place so special. In my case, it’s more about how I feel in my heart, my soul and in my gut. Being in this area just feels right. I’m from Sheffield, England and Yuge is from Beijing, China …. It’s great to have found a new place to call home here in Daylesford.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP FIVE MUST DO’S IN YOUR BACKYARD WHEN

VISITORS COME?In the area around Daylesford, there are a lot more than five I assure you! Lavandula is always charming and unique. The Mill Markets are fun for bowerbirds. The main street of Daylesford has hidden aspects, just walk down and eat where you feel, none will disappoint. Any direction you drive in is beautiful. I think just take a step back and you’ll find your way.

WHAT COULDN’T YOU LIVE WITHOUT IN THE REGION?I think the flowers in spring are mindblowing. Everybody loves their gar-dens and after a chilly winter the gardens throw out a fireworks display that is such a joy to witness.

WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF WAKING UP IN THE REGION?The fresh air. The birds flying overhead. The crispness of the air. Know-ing there are so many great places to have breakfast. That working here means not having to stress over traffic and parking. Daylesford is unique and waking up here feels a little like days gone by when the world was a little more simple.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET ABOUT YOUR BACK-

YARD/AREA?Not telling.

Hepburn Springs is 112 kilometres north-west of Melbourne in Victoria’s glorious spa country.

The historic Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa has been welcoming visitors since 1895 to bathe in the region’s mineral waters. An icon of the region, the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa is nestled within the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve near picturesque Hepburn Springs and Dayles-ford, and draws mineral waters directly from the source to offer a unique spa and bathhouse experience.

Adjacent to the Bathhouse is the Historic Hepburn Pavilion.

Hepburn Pavilion offers a unique Historic venue suitable for weddings, corpo-rate events, conferences, meetings etc. Suitable for events from 12 – 170 people with packages available for accommoda-tion and bathhouse use also available.

The Hepburn Pavilion is a unique Edward-ian heritage-listed building. It features magnificent stained glass windows, a beautiful tiled floor and vaulted ceiling situated in the beautiful surrounds of the Hepburn Springs Mineral Springs Reserve.

The Mineral Spring ran direct-ly into the Rotunda area of the Pavilion where bathing was enjoyed alongside social areas. The pool is no longer visible yet the spring under the pavilion still feeds into the existing bathhouse today.

Hepburn Spa Retreat is also located ad-jacent to the Bathhouse. 10 Luxury Villas and (15 additional villas to be available in December 2017) provide a luxury accom-modation experience for guests.

It’s an age old ritual. When travel-ling to Victoria’s ultimate weekend destination of Daylesford and Hep-burn Springs, a trip to the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa should be at the top of your itinerary. The bathhouse has been welcoming customers since the 1800s, so it’s fair to say there’s something in the water at this unique relaxation retreat.

Located amongst the most significant concentration of natural mineral water springs in Australia, Hepburn Bath-house & Spa offers guests a unique experience to bathe in the mineral enriched water. Absorption of such rich minerals through skin can lead to increased wellbeing and vitality. So

40 DAYLESFORD & MACEDON RANGES - Conference Planners’ Guide

it’s a must try if you’re searching for a new way to nourish your mind and body. It may have opened in 1895, but it can still soothe the stresses of 21st century living with its tradition of ‘taking to the waters’.

Being located on a natural spring is al-ways going to provide a point of differ-ence, but the inclusion of award-win-ning architecture has made the retreat what it is today. The bathhouse was renovated in 2008 with a close focus on preserving the rich history of the location while keeping the establish-ment fresh and contemporary.

While you’re there you might as well top off the experience by indulging

in the massage and body treatments. Here you can experience the natural minerals all to yourself in the private baths. Follow this up with some well-deserved pampering such as body wraps, body exfoliation, massage therapies, facials and spa rituals. It’s also important to refuel your insides: the Pavilion Café’ will be the cherry on the top to a relaxing visit.
