CONFERENCE INVITATION “EU Climate Policy Beyond 2020 – taking stock and looking forward” Insights from the CECILIA2050 research project March 6, 2014 - BRUSSELS Event summary We hereby invite you to attend this high-level expert conference on the future on EU climate and energy policy – and what lessons can be drawn from the experience with the current instrument mix. The conference will feature the work undertaken under the CECILIA2050 research project (a joint effort of 10 leading research institutions from eight countries). The scientists involved will be presenting insights from the first section of the project’s work, taking stock of EU climate policy, pointing to key challenges and starting to chart where it needs to develop towards. Their inputs will be complemented by commentary from policy practitioners and fellow academics from a range of sectors and stakeholder groups, including the European Commission, Member States, the European Parliament, business & NGOs. Scheduled to take place in the weeks following the expected publication of the European Commission’s upcoming package on 2030 targets and instruments, this event will create a timely dialogue forum to connect current research with the policy-making process on post-2020 EU climate policy. Event summary We hereby invite you to attend this high-level expert conference on the future on EU climate and energy policy – and what lessons can be drawn from the experience with the current instrument mix.

The conference will feature the work undertaken under the CECILIA2050 research project (a joint effort of 10 leading research institutions from eight countries).
