Please: NO nuts (including nutella) SCHOOL BANKING MONDAYS Strong Smart Proud At Condobolin Public School we are STRONG, SMART & PROUD Principal’s Report Last Thursday, the Stage 3 students were presented with a cheque for $3,000 as winners of the NSW Activity Challenge. Mr Rick Walford and Mr Lachlan Wright spoke to the primary students about the importance of staying fit, and congratulated our school on having won first and third place in the challenge. Mr Joe Flick, representing the Wiradjuri Condobolin Corporation, congratulated our students. The WCC provided fruit kebabs and fruit platters for students to celebrate the success of Stage 3 in the challenge. Stage 3 Excursion Many of the students in Years 5 and 6 will be taking part in an excursion to Canberra next week as part of their study of democracy and government. Students need to be at school by 6.30 am on Monday, for a 7.00 am departure. The bus is expected to return to school at approximately 6.30 pm on Thursday, 21 August. Students will need to bring their lunch and recess on Monday. Pupil Free Day – Show Day Staff will be involved in a Staff Development Day next Friday, 22 August. The pupil free day has been planned at this time to allow students from Condobolin Public School to attend the show if they wish. School Spelling Bee Forty primary students will be participating in the school finals of the Premier’s Spelling Bee Challenge this Thursday at 12.00 pm in the school hall. Parents and carers are welcome to attend. Two students from each of Stage 2 and Stage 3 will be nominated to participate in the Regional finals in Dubbo on Wednesday 10 September. Change of Details To ensure that we have the correct emergency contact details, please let the school know as soon as possible when you change address or your phone number. Arrival Time at School Students should not be arriving at school before 8.40 am. No supervision is provided for students before this time. P&C Meeting The next P&C meeting will be on Thursday, 14 August at 7.00 pm in the library. All are welcome to attend. This year, school photos will be taken on Tuesday, 2 September. Photo envelopes were sent home last week. Please contact the school if your child did not bring an envelope home, or if you would like a family photo envelope.
Variety Concert
An information note will be sent home by each class teacher by the end of this week in relation to any costume requirements for our annual Variety Concert.
Each week this term families will receive a handout from the Healthy Kids initiative to motivate children to eat well
and get active. Please read the leaflet with your children and encourage them to make healthier choices each day.

2014 PREMIER’S SPELLING BEE The Spelling Bee finals will be held in the school hall this Thursday 14
th August at 12.00 pm. Parents and carers are invited
to attend. Students must be a school to participate in this event.
Winners of our School Spelling Bee will compete against other schools at Regional level and, if successful there, will compete at the State Finals in Sydney in November.
