Board of Trusty will be composed of

minimum 9 members to maximum 21

members.

For the establishment and operation of any private university a board of trusty

need to be formed.

A university must have enough space, classrooms, laboratories, seminar rooms, teachers’ rooms, office rooms, students’

common room and other facilities as per standard

ratio.

For temporary permission, a

proposed private

university should have at

least 25000 square feet

space , either rented or owned. © Ridwanul

The proposed university should have minimum 3

faculties. Altogether in

those faculties there should be

minimum 6 departments.

Proposed university have to prepare a planning about its’ academic activities

& procedures which will need to be approved by the University Grant

Commission

Proposed

university should

appointed enough

full-time faculty

members for each

courses, subject

areas and

departments.

If the appointing

academic staffs were

from other university

of organization, they need to collect

‘permission certificate’ for leaving the

previous job and need

to submit that in the commission.

The proposed university need to prepare

a curriculum with detailed & specific

information about all subjects & courses.

The curriculum need to be approved by

the commission.

For Dhaka & Chittagong

metropolitan area a proposed

university should have minimum

50 million Bangladeshi Taka (BDT)

in it’s reserve fund. For other

metropolitan areas there should

be minimum 30 million BDT and

for any other area in Bangladesh

there should be minimum 15

million BDT.

The proposed university

should have no

connection with any

group who are involved

in terrorism or any

unauthorized activities

and will not do anything

which threaten the

national security and

sovereignty.
