General details of the country
• Neighbours
• Climate: Greece is a Mediterranean country so its summers are dry and hot, the winters are mild and rainy.
• Population: about 12 million, in Athens 4 million, quite intense urbanization
Geographical conditions
• Greece is located in the south-west part of Europe. The area is mostly terrestrial, but because of four seas it has got islands as well. The country is a highland. At the north side of Greece there are forests too.
Agriculture
• The number of workers in this sector is quite high.
• The plains are made to be suitable for crops by irrigation.
• Most important produces are grape, raisins, olives, citrus, vegetables and fruits.
• Sheep- and goat farming.
Industry
• Main sectors: food- and light industry• Expanding: building industry• Metal industry is leader in shipbuilding.
• From the antiquity Greece is famous for its marble.
• The only significant resource which is their own is the brown coal.
Service
• Tourism: 20% of services income, about 12 million tourists per year

• Export: orange, grape, lemon, tomato, figs, tobacco, products of textile- and chemical industry
• Inport: machines, vehicles, petrol• Most important export partners of Greece are
Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France, Netherlands, USA.
