Steel shot blasting is the preferred method of surface preparation by most coating manufacturers for many reasons. It eliminates the use of harsh non-eco-friendly chemicals and leaves the concrete floor with the desired profile. High production rates, blast pattern accuracy, and wide abrasive selection make steel shot blasting an attractive choice. Disposal of dust and other contaminants is efficient and shot blasting can be performed indoors or outdoors. Shot blasting can be done with our ride-on, diesel-powered machines or our walk-behind, electric- powered machines. Applications • Concrete floor coatings removal (up to 1” concrete removal) • Concrete floor cleaning • Steel deck cleaning • Rubber build-up removal • Mastic removal • Epoxy removal • Sealer removal • Urethane removal • Profile concrete • Texturing for non-slip surface
Steel Shot BlastingDiamond grinding will clean and abrade as well as leave the substrate smooth. This method can remove thin coatings, mastics, and smooth out surfaces on concrete and is perfect for preparing the substrate for very thin applications and sealers. Diamond grinding is suitable for interior and exterior floors; our dust containment system allows us to operate our equipment in a dust-free environment.
When shot blasting and diamond grinding just aren’t enough. We use steel or carbide cutters to break or chip away a variety of coating materials. Scarification procedures used on horizontal surfaces can be a highly efficient concrete surface preparation.
