A very warm welcome to our 13th annual Salon Privé, held once again at the UNESCO World Heritage Site and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace, near Oxford. Presented to the first Duke of Marlborough back in 1722, the Palace is considered a ‘naturalistic Versailles’ and its formal gardens are some of the most incredible ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped gardens you could ever hope to see.

For three days in late Summer, Salon Privé takes over Blenheim Palace and hosts one of the world’s major Concours events. Closed to the public and limited to just 2,500 guests per day, the atmosphere is uniquely-relaxed and the cars are the stars.

Enjoyment and the finest in hospitality is our mantra, smiles and laughter aplenty, as our guests are entertained with jazz on the lawns before our signature Lobster Luncheon is served, followed by English Afternoon Tea of course. The Chubb Concours takes centre stage with beautiful parades and prize-giving being the highlight of the day.

We have developed a very special blend of Concours competition entwined with entertainment in one of the most convivial, intimate, yet relaxed environments you could wish to experience and I sincerely hope you will join us and add to this wonderful automotive occasion at the end of August.

My family and I are once again delighted to be hosting the UK’s most exclusive automotive garden party, Salon Privé, which now in its 13th year, returns to Blenheim Palace once again.

As committed petrol heads ourselves, we look forward to this annual treat with great anticipation, but no more so than this year, as Salon Privé moves to the foot of the Palace steps.

As it has done previously, Blenheim Palace will again make a magnificent setting for you to relax, socialise and enjoy the glamour of this very special Concours event.

We are delighted to welcome guests from all over the world and hope that you all have an unforgettable visit, enjoying not only the event but also the surrounding Park and Gardens; the perfect backdrop for this special occasion.

Our awards programme recognises Class Winners and Runners-Up as well as 11 Special Awards and the hugely-anticipated People’s Choice.

The awards are presented during the official judging parade, with the Best of Show and Runner-Up Best of Show being presented at the celebratory Concours Gala dinner held in the Great Hall of Blenheim Palace.

The People’s Choice is the only award chosen by Salon Privé guests during the Thursday with all other awards selected by the Jury.

CONCOURS TOUR DINNER LE MANOIR AUX QUAT’SAISONS

Tuesday 28th August

On Tuesday evening we would be delighted if you would join us for a private dinner for Concours Tourers at the world famous 2 Michelin star restaurant and hotel, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, owned by celebrated chef, Raymond Blanc.

The hotel is the grandest, oldest house in a small Oxfordshire village, Great Milton, set in beautifully manicured grounds with service and surroundings second to none.

As part of the evening, we shall have an exclusive automotive private reveal in the grounds of Le Manoir.

And finally, you have the option of course to experience an overnight stay at this boutique hotel which can be arranged by our team, or alternatively, we shall ensure your safe return to your Woodstock hotel.

CONCOURS DRIVING TOUR OFTHE COTSWOLDS

Wednesday 29th August

All Concours entrants are invited to take part in this day-long 100 mile Tour, taking you through the most breathtakingly-beautiful villages of the Cotswolds and along some of the most favourable driving roads in the country.

The Tour will start at Le Manoir with a hearty drivers’ breakfast, followed by a couple of hours’ driving, encountering spectacular scenery and historical places, leading us to a relaxed country inn for lunch where you can unwind and stretch your legs.

Following the afternoon drive meandering through the Chiltern hills, we end our day around 4pm with arrival at our Salon Privé host venue, the exquisite Blenheim Palace.

CHUBB INSURANCE CONCOURS TROPHY DAY

‘BEST OF SHOW’ GALA DINNER

Thursday 30th August

The Chubb Concours will once again jump into gear on the South Lawns of Blenheim Palace with the official judging and parade being the principal focus. For us, a Concours is as much about the people it attracts, as it is the cars themselves. We are thrilled that in this respect, our event is held in such high esteem with owners and collectors from around the world, who converge to share their passion, parade their cars, meet old friends and make new ones every year.

Salon Privé is not a stuffy, formal affair, but an opportunity for everyone to relax and immerse themselves in automotive history – it’s one of the few places where owners, collectors, enthusiasts and dreamers can congregate and exchange stories and experiences over a glass of champagne.

Once the judging has taken place, you are invited to join Chubb for an exclusive lunch in their private suite, reserved for owners and guest, where you will be treated to delicious foods and Pommery champagne, as well as offering you an area to relax and chat to friends.

You are cordially invited to the Best of Show Gala Dinner held inside Blenheim Palace in the presence of His Grace, the Duke of Marlborough. This sophisticated black-tie evening begins with a Pommery champagne reception in the Duke’s private dining room, followed by a spectacular 4-course dinner held in the Great Hall. The Best of Show finale presentation closes this celebratory highpoint of the Concours.

BOODLES LADIES’ DAY

Friday 31st August

Boodles Ladies’ Day is your second Concours’ day and is an opportunity for you to amble the lawns at your leisure and view all the other cars on display as well as the opportunity to browse the variety of luxury brands exhibiting.

It is a day for you to enjoy without the pressures of judging, to dress up, stand out and shine alongside stunning lawns packed full of modern supercars, hypercars and classic cars. In spite of the horsepower on display, it is a uniquely tranquil experience; unhurried, relaxing, elegant and stylish and with a selection of sensational Boodles jewellery to try on, it is the perfect day out.

As the Concours comes to an end, you are invited to participate in our final departing parade where we shall wave you goodbye; your beautiful classic engines will fire up for the last time this year at Blenheim Palace and drive away in grand style.

WHERE TO STAY

Woodstock is a charming, historic English town and a crown jewel of the Cotswolds. With this rich history, spectacular scenery and beautiful architecture, Woodstock provides the perfect retreat when visiting Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace.

Although Woodstock is not a large place, it does offer a number of hotels within the town itself as well as the surrounding area. The hotel types vary enormously from the impressive Macdonald Bear, Crown and Feathers to the town’s many gastro pubs, The Kings Arms and Marlborough Arms to name a few. About 3 miles outside of Woodstock, there is also Killingworth Castle which offers very comfortable, stylish accommodation.

Macdonald Bear is Salon Privé’s preferred hotel; it is one of the finest 4-star hotels in Oxfordshire and offers a beautiful slice of luxury in the heart of the countryside. Sited in what was once a 13th century coaching inn, the hotel combines history and culture with exceptional facilities. With direct access into Blenheim Palace grounds and an easy 25 minutes drive to the historic city of Oxford, The Bear is a popular choice for Concours clients and guests.

At the end of a busy day at Salon Privé, you simply exit Blenheim Palace grounds and you are but two minutes away from your Woodstock hotel!
