HOW TO PLAY

• Choose one pentatonic scale for every player (up to 6).• Randomly shuffle cards.• Deal 5 cards to each player.• Every player puts one card down to the left and then picks the one up from the right.• When a player has a full pentatonic scale they place their finger to their nose.• Every other player places their finger to their nose, the last one is the gets a letter from the word PIG.• When you get all the letters of PIG you are out.

(These playing instructions are also included on one of the game cards.)

ASSEMBLYTo assemble this game:

• Print out the game cards (pages 3-18) double sided. • You may also wish to print just the major pentatonic scales (pages 3-10) or the minor pentatonic scales (pages 11-18).

• Cut along the dotted lines.• Laminate if desired.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESPentatonic Pig helps students to become familiar with the pen-tatonic scales. This game is the perfect preparation or review before using pentatonic scales for improvising or composing.
