One of the basic criteria of science education is process validity which requires engaging the learner in acquiring the methods and processes that lead to generation and validation of scientific knowledge and nurture the natural curiosity and creativity of child in science. The module encourages the biology teachers to relate learning in biology to real life, real issues and local environment. A variety of suggested activities will help teachers with ideas to motivate students learning and to make it relevant There is focus on important areas of biology curriculum. They are properly sequenced to optimize learning. The module is designed using activities/ experiments and investigatory projects as integral part of curriculum. The integration of ICT in most of the topics will enhance effective delivery of content. The suggested assessment activities will help the teachers in creating constructive teaching programs. Detailed information on references and resources is provided for extended learning in biology.

Q1. Instructions: Given below is an incomplete flow-charting on cell organelles. Some
boxes/ spaces in the flow-chart have been left blank. Complete the flow-chart adding terms
/ names/ functions as and where required.
Develop two such flow charts on different concepts in biology (of your interest) for assessing the
students.

The worksheet with outline structure of a bead necklace and a list of characters placed in different
