However. in many cases the problem has a solution thatcommon sense can find in a short time. In such a case, thebrute-force method machines require could never competewith humans. This is the key to the proper use of anycomputation machine. When common sense does not supply aquick solution, a machine can facilitate the exploration of thepossible reasons for a patient's illness. A machine can keeptrack of more findings, possible conclusions, and diseaseand test parameters than most clinicians. If common sensecould be partnered with machines, the result is better thaneither can provide alone. If together they can improve theaccuracy, speed and efficiency of diagnosis, the combinationof man and machine in medicine provides value.

3D graphical user interface forcomputer-assisted surgery

The introduction of 3Dimaging in medical applications hasopened new possibilities for surgeryplanning and assistance. Thesurgeons can now investigate imagedata in virtual reality (VR) prior tosurgery in order to decide what willbe the best surgical procedure.During surgery, valuable informationcan be provided to help the surgeonperform as planned. Additionally, if alive data provider such as an openMRI scanner is available, the medicalpersonnel can monitor the patientclosely and make sure adequateactions are taken as surgeryprogresses.

Direct Brain interface between human

• University of Washington researchers have successfully replicated a direct brain-to-brain connection between pairs of people as part of a scientific study following the team’s initial demonstration a year ago. In the newly published study, which involved six people, researchers were able to transmit the signals from one person’s brain over the Internet and use these signals to control the hand motions of another person within a split second of sending that signal.
