ARCHITECTURAL CAREER
Began his architectural career in the 1970s, Nouvel has broken the aesthetic of modernism and
post-modernism to create a stylistic language all his own.
He places enormous importance on designing a building harmonious with its surroundings.
Early in his career, Nouvel became a key participant in intellectual debates about architecture in France
Nouvel doesn't draw, which was once considered an essential skill in the shaping of architectural space.
BASIC FACTS OF JEAN JEAN NOUVEL stand out of the field of architecture because of Enthusiasm, expansive imagination and lust
for more experimentation. Nouvel's biggest idea is what he calls
"dematerialization", the "interplay of light and materiality", which "gives the impression that materials
have vanished” Nouvel’s specialty is that he transforms the landscapes
and tries to blend them into the built forms. Unique approach , driven by the specificities of context,
program, and site has proven effective in numerous successes around the world.

UNIQUNESS IN LANGUAGE OF ARCHITECTURE
Every Sofitel is a unique blend of sophistication and the French art of living. The Sofitel Vienna is situated in the heart of the Austrian capital.
Its contemporary design is inspired by the nearby St. Stephen's Cathedral. Stay in an "ARCHISCULPTURE" designed by one of France's top
architects, Jean Nouvel. The façade of this 21st-century masterpiece with its monochrome color
palette and diamond roof pattern reflects the influence of the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral.
Inside, colorful works of art illuminate the huge surfaces. The entirely glass-clad Das LOFT restaurant seems to hover in the sky and
offers a unique view of the historic and cosmopolitan Vienna. Experience a childish fascination with Pipilotti Rist's dazzling video
murals Its masterly crafted kaleidoscopic light ceiling invites guests and passers-
by alike to dream.

HIEARCHY OF SOFITEL VIENNA
In the diagrams above they used 3 different colors to show the
different spaces that define this hotel. Since the most important space are the guest rooms, the architect located them around the core of the building so that
every room faces the exterior of the building. Therefore, the less important space such as the
service area was left in the center. This building is asymmetrical as well.
