“Truth alone triumphs not falsehood. Through truth, may you attain that inner illumination and prosper gloriously. ” On our stride towards the completion of the thirty glorious years of imparting quintessential education we have triumphantly explored beyond the conventional means of inculcating the vital life skills in students. The awe-inspiring accomplishments of the students in the board exams AISSE and AISSCE – 2017 on one hand and the stellar performance in the JEE Mains(210+) and Advance levels (75+). The NEET(61 out of 76) on the other hand and it's high success ratio was fused with the essence of fulfillment. This accomplishment saga takes us miles ahead when we learn that our alumni have cracked the coveted Civil Services or qualified for Scholarships from renowned international platforms like the Cornell University. All of them attribute their achievements to the vital years of schooling that they received under the mentorship of a wonderful team. The confines of the classroom can no longer boast of being the arena of model teaching and learning. Learning through experiential exploits in real or semi-real situations is the demand of our times. So we promote a world-view oriented learning to scale the depths of knowledge with the enthusiasm of arduous trekkers nurturing the hope to scale the knowledge mountain.SHABD –National Inter-school Knowledge Convergence Meet 2017 and DRISHYAM- Bokaro International Film Festival proved to be iconic ventures in bringing some of the dynamic minds of the nation together on the same platform for intellectual exchanges through multi format debates, quizzes, theatre creative writing and film discussion activities. These programmes encourage the young minds to appreciate and analyze public speaking, art of critical thinking and films, with a social responsibility and consciousness. Spandan - The live Exhibits turned out to be a treat to our intellect and a feast to the eyes with the students enthusiastically presenting diplays in various subjects. For the record our students have won five major national level dramatics, debationg, installation art and quizzing competitions across four states of the country whch included prestigeous institutions like Mayo College Girls' School-Ajmer, B.K. Birla Centre for Education-Pune, St Michael's School-Siliguri, PCRA- New Delhi and closer home at D.A.V Hazaribagh and BIT-Mesra. Children acquired immense satisfaction by contributing generously in the Joy of Giving week and whole-heartedly in the Swachh Sanatan campaign. It is indeed gratifying to observe them pick up the social skills during the ventures Chalo Gaon ki Ore as it undoubtedly paves the path for a more sensitised future and a larger understanding of the society.
Wishing everyone the colours of unbridled joy and happiness!

LEARNING THE NUANCES OF FILM MAKINGOn Day 1, the session began with the screening of an insightful documentary on the life of the legendary Actor and vocalist, Shri Kundan Lal Saigal, titled, Saigal, Baso Mere Mann Me. The documentary was directed by Shri Sharad Dutt. Later, ‘Boot Polish’ (1954), directed by the renowned personality from the film world Raj Kapoor was screened. The film Boot Polish is a film about dreams which projected a shoeshine boy on the dusty streets of Lahore dreaming of rescuing a beautiful courtesan. Boot Polish is a pure example of Hindi Cinema. It is filled with stylized artifice, songs and dances, idealized characters, myriad sub-plots, and most importantly an inspiring message. Before the screening, Shri Abhishek Kashyap along with Shri Agarwal introduced the context and background of the film. Shri Prahlad Agarwal, took interactive sessions with the students on both the documentary and the film, ‘Boot Polish.'
On Day 2, a tribute was paid to the birth centenary of Roald Dahl- a very popular Short Story Writer for Children with the screening of ‘Matilda’; a film directed by Danny DeVito. ‘Matilda’ is a story of a little girl, who happens to be a genius. The plot revolves around her teachers, parents and the strict school Principal.
After the screening, Dr. Vijay Sharma had an interaction with the students wherein she stressed on the importance of childhood days, the receding joys of childhood in the contemporary scenario.
Bridging the cinematic divide between the classroom and cinema, the screening was later followed by an intellectual discussion on ‘The Prevalent Multiplex Versus the Single Theater Culture’ by Dr. Satyadeva Tripathi. He put up a contrasting picture of the era of theatres where the films were reflective and depicted reality to the shift towards the modern ‘multi’ screen culture which has redefined the context of films to more of commercial index rather than moral values. He said, “Films are the best forms of art and expression, but the prevailing multiplex culture has taken the films into the domain of marketing. There are a few exceptions like ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Madari’, "Masaan"- but in large the portrayal of films nowadays has moved away from reality”. He further said that the scale of success is now being quantified in terms of earnings while in the times of single theatre culture, the number of days it screened was the real success. The discussion was very insightful wherein students asked various questions on Films, Culture of Multi Screen Theatres, changing techniques and attitudes etc.
and CDs, the school believes in such festivals where meeting the directors is an important component that provides a learning experience to the students on the different facets of film making. The first hand face to face interactions with Film Critics, Analysts and Script writers provide the knowledge of processes inside the process.
