    Welcome to Ensemble!

MCC uses Ensemble Video as our private, cloud-hosted streaming video service. This means that Ensemble is a place toupload and store video files for use in our websites and educational materials.

Ensemble can do many different things and serve many different uses. Students can upload video they shoot to a dropboxwe create and they dont have to log in to anything and can keep their videos private. We can also set up peer review, inwhich students can see their classmates videos. We can also create video playlists to embed within part of a learningmanagement system.

IDS is here to help. Let us know your project idea and well show you how you can use Ensemble to achieve it.

Heres whats included in this guide:

    1. How to Get Started/Log In to Ensemble Page 2 2. How to Use Ensemble in Blackboard Page 3 3. How to Upload Videos to Ensemble (from a desktop/laptop) Page 7 4. How to Upload Videos from an iPad or iPhone Page 10 5. How to Set Up a Dropbox for Students Page 17 6. How to Set Up a Peer Review Playlist Page 20

To use Ensemble, the IDS team must create an account and at least one library for you . Contact

Alex Garrison 402-457-2769 or [email protected] Curtis Bryant 402-457-2853 or [email protected] Chuck Davis 402-457-2866 or [email protected]

to have a personal li brary or course library created or if you have any questions.

    IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER:

Make sure your Internet connection is not interrupted and that your file has th e appropriate file extension (.MP4, .MOV, .WMV, etc.).Failure to do this will result in a Conversion Error.

If you are recording video with a smartphone or tablet, make sure you are recording with the correct side facing up. With s martphones, this usually means holding the phone vertically. With tablets, this usually means holding the device horizontally. If you are unsure, record apractice video to double-check. Failure to do this will result in your video being upside-down or sideways, and this cannot be corrected inEnsemble.

First, contact IDS to request a library. It helps if we have an idea of your goals for using Ensemble. We create libraries withpersonal names, for specific courses and for master courses. These can always be changed, but keeping libraries named toreflect their use helps keep us all organized.

Once you get a confirmation email back that you have a library or two, youll need to get in.

To get access to your libraries, go to http://mccneb.ensemblevideo.com/ from any browser.

Enter your MCC username and password .

    Click on log in.

Thats it! Youre ready to use Ensem ble.

Once youre in, you can switch libraries by selecting a different one in the drop -down at the top.
