On the auspicious occasion of
Rev Sadhu T.L. Vaswani’s
141st Birth Anniversary,
we at SVISG, embarked on a
mission to restore the world
and give it new life and energy.
Blessed with the eternal
protection of our beloved Dada,
we committed ourselves to
lend a healing touch to our
ailing Mother Earth. A promise of a new and better
teachings have shaped the ideals for the need of compassion, a TED
Talk was organized.
An Online Pottery Session was coordinated for the students
of Sankalp to promote creativity and versatility. Also, the
therapeutic benefits of clay modelling cannot be undermined in
unsettling times such as this and can be a favourable learning
engagement tool to aid mental health and well-being.
Students vividly depicted the
importance of compassion, how
it transforms us as a human
being, the way it vanquishes
indifference, intolerance and
injustice and is able to replace
judgment with acceptance.
The children of today are the builders of a
brave, new world- a world without want.
- Dada Vaswani
The Digital Poster
Making Activity evoked
a spirited response in the
students as creative
ingenuity and unalloyed
love decorated the lovely
designs dedicated to
Dadaji.
In light of the ongoing global crisis, various discussions were held
online and students vowed to inculcate the values of compassion and
empathy in their lives. Their videos were also displayed in other
classes, so as to encourage all to ingrain compassion as a vital
component. It was heartening to see not only the collaborative efforts
of the students, in making their Ted Talks but also the response of the
audience via the virtual mode which was equally exciting. The
speakers were really encouraged by the positive feedback they
received and looked forward for more such opportunities in the
future.
Animals are a wonderful part of our lives who bring joy to the
heart and give us unconditional love. As custodians of our
planet, it is our responsibility to treat all species with Kindness,
Love and Compassion. To propagate this message, a Poster
Making Competition was conducted for classes III – VIII on a
virtual platform, on the Topic -"ANIMALS RIGHTS”. The
students wholeheartedly participated and expressed
their thoughts through their creative skills, highlighting the
values of Love and Compassion towards animals and
propagated the necessity of ‘Saying No to Cruelty’.

LEARNING FOR
THE FUTURE EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT
School gardens and garden-
based education have the
potential to shape the values of
children. The initiative of
teaching organic farming to the
students of Sankalp- ‘Eat
Clean, Go Green’, on the
occasion of Meatless Day was a
purpose of noble resolve, born
of determination.
The invaluable lesson of
sustainable living,
environmental respect, and
interest in outdoor activities, for
all the enthusiastic students
involved was a path breaking
idea to invest in our future.
The ethos of education
requires the students to
nourish not only their mind
but their spirit, with
kindness.
The members of Eco Club
and Karuna Club participated
in Plantation Drive at their
homes and learnt the correct
method of growing various
kitchen garden plants, like
brinjal, ginger, coriander,
lemon etc., as a commitment
to plant hopes for a future
which will cultivate nothing
but joy for all alike.

EDUCATING FOR
HUMAN GREATNESS SOWING SEEDS OF KINDNESS
Keeping up with the spirit of the Meatless Day and celebrating the teachings and values of Rev. Sadhu T.L. Vaswani, the students of Pre– School and Pre – Primary took part in various art and craft activities, outlined to help them absorb the kernel of humanity- ‘compassion’. To have students use their imagination to create artwork; to demonstrate motor skills by coloring, cutting, and assembling an animal mask; to show how wearing a mask can enable empathy building exercise; and to evoke in young children, a sense appreciation and love for all creations alike were some of the objectives of Mask Making Activity that was designed for the learners of Pre- School and Pre Primary.
In continuation with the birthday celebrations of our Revered Founder, Sadhu T.L Vaswani, a Virtual Puppet Show was organized for the learners of Pre-Primary. The story was intrinsically woven around the theme of the month, “Animals and Birds”. Puppet shows help with learning and development. Learning through playing is fundamental to the education of our children, helping them to develop many necessary skills, like creativity, imagination etc. Students were seen enjoying the puppet show held online.
Nature Walk is an excellent way to stimulate a child’s appreciation for the natural world. They get an experience of a free-flowing environment that enhances all their senses, thus improving their emotional, intellectual, physical and social state. Dadaji believed that “Not to love birds and animals would be not to love God”. Thus, Virtual Nature Walk formed one of the important activities in the birthday celebrations of our Revered Founder, Sadhu T.L Vaswani, accompanied by an aim to inculcate in children, empathy towards all forms of life.

“NOTHING WILL BENEFIT HUMAN HEALTH AND
INCREASE THE CHANCES FOR SURVIVAL OF LIFE ON
EARTH AS MUCH AS THE EVOLUTION TO A
VEGETARIAN DIET.”
- ALBERT EINSTEIN
To proliferate the message of universal love
towards the animal world and promote
vegetarianism as the healthier diet
preference, “Virtual Inter- House
Vegetarian Appetizers Towards
Developing Immunity" was organized as an
attempt to allow the learners to explore the
wonderful world of vegetarian food. Children
portrayed their creativity through the
language of food and promoted an important
message of vegetarianism. The delectable
and colourful platters presented by the
young chefs attested that the endeavour was
a successful one.
Our health is directly shaped by our diet.
The mind and soul are fed by the body. So,
it is very crucial to supplement our bodies
with positive nourishment, which is
transferred to our physical, emotional and
spiritual constitution. Acknowledging the
notable health benefits of vegetarian diet
and with an intention to spread the
knowledge amongst our learners, the
school initiated a Virtual Workshop on “Be
Vegetarian, Be Healthy” by Ms. Anjali
Ahuja. She advocated the advantages of a
plant-based diet and her words were
joyfully received by the young audience.

CELEBRATE NOVEMBER 25 AS MEATLESS DAY
“EDUCATION
FOR CHANGE-
REFORMING
THE HEART”
Students who recognized and appreciated the rights of the animals added a leaf to the Pledge Tree and attested their unwavering dedication to promote vegetarianism on 25 November.
Meatless Day Pledge Forms were distributed, which were filled by ardent students, teachers and parents, avowing their allegiance to the cause of making the world a better place by shielding ‘man’s best friend’ from human-induced suffering and securing their right to live without fear. 3 Lakh pledges were collected this year.
The students of SVISG were given a platform where they could meditate, introspect and express themselves with the help of thought sharing and movie sessions on ‘Compassion is Passion with Heart’. It was a small yet noble attempt on the part of the school to help children unlock the treasure of love.
