A campaign to expand Sorrentino’s Compassion House It takes a lot more than deep pockets and a tool belt to renovate a home. It takes forward thinking, preparation, and research. Oh, and a whole lot of heart, soul and commitment. Our expansion journey started with a very successful feasibility study. As a result, Compassion House Foundation has quietly launched a $5 million campaign to expand and renovate the current house, adding eight new guest suites, an expanded kitchen and other amenities, as well as a sustainability fund to ensure guest fees remain affordable. It’s our commitment to ensure that we help as many women as possible that require not only a place to sleep, but a place to call home. Says one of our former guests:“Even though each individual goes through their own experience with cancer, it is somehow comforting to sit in a room, look at each and every person, and know that they have a bond— it is not good to be alone in this journey.” Can you imagine the difference you can make when you make a commitment to this amazing expansion? MISSION VISION MISSION VISION Our Mission and Vision guide us in the work we do. We don’t need to preach our values because they are your values too. Generosity. Empathy. A sense of community. This is what drives us. Our inspiration comes from the strength of the women we serve. Mission: The Compassion House Foundation will provide sanctuary and support to women with breast cancer and their companions during diagnosis, treatment and recovery within and beyond our four walls. Vision: More women with breast cancer will have access to sanctuary and compassionate support. Compassion House Foundation flourishes through the leadership of our board of directors. These twelve individuals volunteer their time, talent, and commitment because they care. They serve because they feel a responsibility to support the families who are going through a tough time and to show them that they are not alone. In September Barb Walker retired from the board and in turn joined our capital campaign cabinet. Every departure marks a new arrival and we’re pleased to announce Kathy Bonazew joined the board in the role of treasurer. Thanks to each of you for your passion and dedication. EXECUTIVE Ian B.
