Cherry bar stools are a certain guest pleasing addition to one’s home. With their rich, warm color cherry wood stools can add a touch of sophistication and class to any room. The texture of these elegant wood stools is smooth and sat-iny, accentuating their class with simple beauty.
Because they are hardwood, they are stronger stools than any average to soft wood stool, but remain invitingly smooth because they are the softest of the hardwoods. Whether decorated with a glossy finish or left bare and natural, cherry bar stools have an innate classic and timeless beauty that can fit perfectly into any unique decorum. These elegant stool bars have, thus, the special qual-ity of being quite versatile. While they clearly fit in a rich and ornate ambiance, they can equally work in a more casual setting adding a subtle to striking classy touch.
Cherry wood has interesting physical properties as well. Just like with time fine wine ages and becomes better, so too do these classy bar stools. Gradually, over time, this beautiful wood will grow darker, richer and more full-bodied. As this wood’s color deepens, it can often appear shinier, healthier, and even more elegantly valuable. It is a wood that becomes more beautiful with age; especially because the wood is primarily sought after for its rich red unique coloring. By marketing research it is the most sought after of all the hardwoods used in furniture and decor.
It is interesting to note that, if this wood
is left in the sun, the darkening process with be exponentially increased. An extreme color change can be noticed within as little as seven days. For those who want their cherry wood bar stools to be just a bit darker, this is a great piece of information to keep in mind. It is also important to note for those would like their bar stools to age at a more graceful pace.
When shopping for bar stools, cherry seems to always stand out most distinctively among the sea of styles and colors available. Whether the display is of a simple sitting bar stool without arm rests or a back, the quality of cherry wood always enables this piece of furniture an added stand alone touch of beauty. Even the simplest of cherry wood bars stools looks far from inexpensive and far from ever being considered, just a simple bar stool. The quality of cherry wood always manages to far out class the competition. Cherry bar stools are the perfect compliment and choice for anyone wanting to add a distinctive touch of beauty and class to their home, office, and or business establishment!

Pacic Energy’s Wood Burning ProductsA Breath of Fresh Air And a GREEN Energy Choice
Go ahead - breathe easier and enjoy the comfort of wood heat knowing you are also serving the environment by choosing a Pacic Energy ultra-burning wood stove or wood insert.
Heating your home with a Pacic Energy wood stove or insert means choosing a
GREEN home-heating solution.
Unlike the ‘dirty burners” of decades past, Pacic Energy’s unique rebox design and stainless steel encapsulated bafe system
burn over 96% cleaner than non-EPA stoves with older technology. Pacic Energy stoves burn carbon-neutral, and create virtually no
emmissions.
Wood heat is a responsible choice. Unlike fossil fuels, wood is a
renewable and sustainable fuel source which does not produce green-house
gases that contribute to global warming. Burning wood simply speeds up the natural decomposition process.
It’s not uncommon to get a bit tired of areas of our home where we spend a lot of time, especially if nothing has been updated for a number of years. The thought of re-working a room can be daunting at times, so it’s important to actually know where to start the process.
First things first – gain inspiration from a fabric you love, or find an accessory (such as a rug, throw or cushion) that completely catches your eye. Whatever you choose will form the basis of your new color palette for the room and give you something to build from.
Patterned fabrics are great for dressing up a room and giving it a fresh look. They can be used in a number of ways:
•Cover furniture or parts of furniture, from a chair cushion to an entire sofa
•Create panels for curtains
•Cover a divider screen. A useful style tip for the ‘pattern-novice’ as the screen can always be re-covered or moved to a different room if you change your mind. Another benefit is that you can take it with you when you move house
•Something as simple as stripes can bring together a range of
colors and can be useful for giving you a palette to work with.
Consider the scale of the pattern when deciding what you want to use it for. A large-scale pattern may be too much for a small living. Similarly, a small-scale pattern could add a delicate look to a large room or make a smaller room appear more spacious. It’s a good idea to take samples of fabric and place them over different areas in your room to get an idea of how it will look.
I love adding texture! Texture is important when building a room because it adds homely ‘layers’ and movement. It’s also an interesting way to keep the color palette flowing throughout, without making it too uniform. Textures you may want to consider for your home would include velvet; faux suede; leather; flocked cottons and silks; chenille or crewel (wool embroidery). These fabrics not only look good, but provide plenty of comfort as well.
The last thing you want to do is walk into a room and feel like there’s too much going on. A successful room needs to have balance. Too much of one color, pattern or texture will make a room look busy. Break up color with neutral tones to give your
eyes a rest. Your main living space is a place to relax, not be
overwhelmed – so be careful not to overload.
The trick to great decorating is to blend well – each room must
transition into another. And of course the rule “less is more” is something that should always be kept in the back of your mind. Too many fluffy cushions in one place can create a “poodle corner” effect.
With balance being of equal importance, there are some tips you can use to incorporate this aspect in your room. The best place to start is to create a floor plan so you can clearly see where your windows, lighting and furniture are positioned. Once this is determined, you can then decide which fabrics to put where. Keep large objects (such as the sofa) in a fairly plain fabric, particularly if the room is small. You can always add accent cushions or throws with color and pattern to liven up the piece – and change them out when you want a fresh new look for the season. Before purchasing drapery, consider how many windows the room has and where they are positioned. A wall of windows with heavily patterned curtains may risk looking too busy when the drapery is drawn.
Don’t forget to use magazines for inspiration – tear out pictures of furniture items, rooms, colors and patterns and create your own scrapbook of ideas that you can use as a point of refer-ence. Experiment and have fun through the entire process!

Because you want your southwest home decor to be interesting as well as beautiful, make your rooms say something. Give them life with rawhide lamp shades, Native American style baskets and pottery or southwest rugs. Keep all ornamentation or rustic accessories subservient to the lines that your room naturally creates.
Try to imagine how you want each room to look when completed. For example, light or dark rawhide shades on rustic lamps can make a dramatic impression. Get the picture well in your mind, as a painter would. Use the colors of hand woven area rugs and floor runner rugs in traditional southwestern patterns. Try to think out the main features, for the details all depend upon these and will quickly suggest themselves to you. This is, in the long run, the quickest and the most economical method of furnishing and will keep you from constantly readjusting.
However, there is a theory that no room can be created all at once, that it must grow gradually. In a sense this is a fact, so far as it refers to the amateur decorator. The professional designer is always occupied with creating and rec-reating rooms and can instantly summon to mind complete schemes of wrought iron, rawhide and southwest rugs or wall hangings for interior design. The amateur can also learn to mentally furnish rooms. It is a fascinating pastime when you get the knack of it.
Beautiful cowboy or Indian accessories can be obtained for a minimal price, if you have established a feeling for line and
color. If you are a lover of the beautiful rustic and country style but were not born with this art instinct, you can quickly acquire it. A decorator can create or rearranges one room, and then you can do the next, alone, or with assistance. In a very short time you will have spread your wings mastering the art of southwest decor, working out legitimate rustic interior design, teeming with your individuality.
When you observe the results, you will be pleased and may ask yourself why you like it. This is the birth of good taste. Next, you should always be willing to experiment, makes mistakes, rights them, and takes up another challenge.
In this way you will grow your skill at interior decorating southwestern style and the development your knowledge of rustic home furnishings, rustic furniture and the fundamentals of western ranch, lodge and cabin elements.
Here is a tip to get you started. The more rustic accessories of natural materials you group together in a space the better the whole theme ties together. Try earthen pottery, wooden bowls and kiva ladders along with Indian drums and woven baskets. Use lamps made of wrought iron, pottery, wood or even antler lamps and rustic leather or rawhide lampshades. Then use your theme colors in your southwest rugs even if you have carpeting.
Your progress will be rapid and certain in this fascinating study of rustic southwestern decorating, if a few of the laws underlying all successful rustic interior decorating and design are kept in mind.
These are: HARMONY in line and color scheme;
SIMPLICITY in decoration and the number of objects in a room, which is to be dictated by the usefulness of each object and insistence upon
SPACES which, like rests in music, have as much value as the objects dispersed about the room. Open space can be a welcome relief in your room.
Treat your rooms like a western still life or southwestern art. See to it that each group, such as a table, sofa, and one or two chairs make a “composition,” suggesting the comfort of lodge style as well as the beauty of southwestern homes, adobe or a western ranch setting. Never have an isolated chair, unless it is placed against the wall, as part of the scheme of your home decor.
Rustic decor is a lot of fun and as well as being developed from an empty space can be achieved with existing furnishings by the addition of rustic home accessories. We cannot emphasize enough the wonderful impact that hand laced rawhide lamp shades and hand woven southwest rugs will make and they work equally well with country style.
Use these simple tips and you will find that you love to decorate with southwest style and also bring the old west into your rustic, country home ideas by using beautiful southwest decor.

Valentine’s Day is one of the most romantic days of the year and the most popular gift to give, among new couples and married ones, is flowers. Flowers are possibly the most romantic token of your love and affection! Choosing the perfect flowers for your loved one can be difficult . . . do you go with traditional roses or something different? Here are the top seven most romantic flowers in our book.
1. Roses. Cliched perhaps, but still very romantic. The color of rose you select means different things. Red is for passion, perfect for the hot young couple who is just getting
into their affair, pink is romance, ideal for chaste pairs and married couples, or anyone who is just in love. Stay away from yellow, these ones mean friendship and aren’t very romantic at all!
2. Tulips. Tulips traditionally mean “perfect love” and are really a great alternative to the rose. Tulips come in a variety of hues, so it is pretty easy to find one that comes in your lover’s favorite color, even if that’s black. This simple flower really symbolizes the perfection of your love, with its sculpted petals and beautiful cup. A simple bouquet of three or five tulips is ideal to give to your darling this Valentine’s Day.
3. Lilies. These elegant flowers are stunning when presented alone or in a cluster and do best when not combined with any filler. They are come in several colors, including red, white and yellow and symbolize beauty . . . just right for letting your girl know how lovely you consider her to be. While expensive, lilies really do embody beauty and create a very romantic environment.
4. Lilacs. These amazing flowers are most revered for their delightful aroma and tiny delicate flowers that grow in cone-like clusters. They can be picked directly from the bush and given to your sweetheart as a beautiful Valen-tine’s Day gift. Traditionally available in hues ranging from soft lavender to dark purple, lilacs
have now been bred to come in white and pink as well, all beautiful romantic shades.
5. Carnations. Another fairly traditional flower is the carnation. They are frilly and feminine and come in hues like pink, white, and red, as well as more stunning shades of purple, green and even blue. Some carnations even have dual colors, with the outer edge of the petals in red or pink while the main flower is white. They can be quite stunning, but tend to be the cheaper of the flowers available. These flowers last longer than most, up to 3 weeks after they’ve been cut.
6. Orchids. The meanings of this delicate flower are many, including seduction, love, beauty and refinement. Though often quite pricey, a single orchid can be a lovely way to tell someone that you care about them and is considered to be quite romantic. Plus, it’s about as far from the traditional rose as you can get!
7. Wildflowers. This is more a variety of flower than a specific kind. There are literally thousands of different wildflowers growing in fields and yards across the country. What makes this so romantic is that you have to actually go out and take the time to select and pick the flowers for your sweetheart. Giving wildflowers for Valentine’s Day is sure to impress your girl as it is a very romantic gesture.
In general Valentines Day Flowers are a romantic gift, but these flowers hold more romantic connotations than others. Whether you choose to go with the traditional rose or something a little more unique, you can guarantee that your gesture won’t be misinterpreted if you give flowers.

More recent home bars have begun to serve as an alternative to breakfast bars seen in the kitchen or the dining rooms. Home bars normally serve as an ideal addition for entertainment, have fashionable visual flair, and provide with a place where refreshments can be served. When it comes to home bars, the choices available are many, ranging from simple home bars with rolling cart, which can hold cocktail glasses to pretty sophisticated ones in room corners equipped with refrigerators and other accessories.
Home bars can be movable and can be located anywhere in the house. They can be a part of the recreational room in the basement area, in a covered area outdoors or in the front portion of the house. The simple and basic home bar has just a counter where a few drinks can be mixed during a party. The most sophisticated home bar can hold many different kinds of drinks as well as other items and can prove to be a center piece for entertainment with water, glasses, cocktails, ice , and appetizers readily available.
Home bars have many accessories and appliances like overhead racks for champagne flutes, water tumblers, wine goblets etc., which come ready made or custom designed with the help of professionals. Home bars also have drawers where utensils, bottle openers, cocktail napkins, and pocket guides for mixing drinks can be kept. Home bars have counters that can hold blenders, shakers, icemakers or even a sink. The cabinet in the home bars contain a refrigerator or cooler with a dishwasher. Many innovative ideas have been implemented by designers to ensure that home bars serve as center piece for festive get-togethers among friends even when not in use.
Kitchen furniture has become a matter of importance
because unlike old days when women were dealing with kitchen activities alone. Today, everyone takes part in them. Kitchens have become an area of activity with both men and women sharing the work. Furthermore, kitchen furniture is given more importance as kitchen, living spaces, and dining spaces are constructed in such a way that the person in the kitchen will be in constant touch with the activities in the living and dining areas.
Therefore, people attach more importance to the design of their kitchen and the kitchen furniture than they probably used since it has become more of a opened space.
As far as the cabinets are concerned, modular cabinets are available in standard sizes so that anyone can have their kitchen designed or re-designed. It is quiet natural that once the kitchen is occupied, filled with kitchen furniture, dishes, groceries, cutlery items, and appliances to you feel the need for more storage and work space.
There are different kinds of kitchen furniture like bar stools, tables, chairs, racks such as bakers or kitchen racks for storing different items. Other types of kitchen furniture include cabinets, pot racks, kitchen work centers. If the kitchen is very spacious and bar activities are performed in the kitchen, then stackable or elaborate wine racks add a nice appeal to a home bar.
With the wide selection of furniture, designing your kitchen to fit your needs should really be a pleasurable task.

After the wedding dress and bride’s bouquet, maybe nothing is so powerful a wedding symbol as the wedding cake. It’s so ubiquitous, many people just assume the wedding cake has always been a part of wedding celebrations everywhere.
Like all popular beliefs, there’s some truth to that idea, though of course the real facts are much more fascinating and a whole lot more colorful.
The Wedding Cake’s Early Days During the heady days of the Roman Empire, wedding guests were served not one cake but a sumptuous collection of many small treats and pastries as a kind of wedding party favor. In some parts of the empire, one single cake was dropped over the bride’s head at the reception, as a way of wishing the couple good luck in the future.
Later, during the Middle Ages, many guests would bring small cakes to the wedding celebration. The cakes were all piled atop a single table, creating the beginning of the tiered wedding cake known today. As a tradition, a bride and groom that could still kiss over the pile of cakes were considered to have good luck in the upcoming marriage.
Modern Times Wedding cakes began to change and grow in the 19th Century, when new means of refrigeration could keep their ingredients fresh for much longer periods.
The modern wedding cake is a kind of homage to St. Bride’s Church, a famous English Medieval Chapel. The church’s spire includes several spires, much like a tiered cake.
Many modern couples have adopted the wedding cake design to display their own interests or passions. For example, a couple fascinated by the Renaissance may choose to decorate their cake with decorations specific to that time period. The bride and groom figures atop the cake may also reflect their hobbies and pastimes.
Because modern wedding cakes have become so elaborate, their preparation time has steadily grown. Wedding planners are encouraged to make arrangements with a pastry chef up to three months in advance of the wedding reception.
Wedding Cake Traditions Some popular wedding cake traditions taken from around the world include:
- a bride who cuts her own cake will have to work hard all her life.
- if the groom lays his hands over the bride’s hands as the cake is cut, they will share their possessions their whole life.
- the bride cuts the first piece of cake as a way of hoping for children.

The Road Runner line was first produced by Plymouth in 1968 with a back-to-basics strategic approach aimed at
making muscle cars more affordable for the average Joe rather than having them remain fully-loaded, luxury cars that few could afford. As a result, Road Runners were targeted to a different market. Even though they were downgraded some compared to other muscle cars of their time, the 1969 Plymouth Road Runner made record sales for Plymouth and became one of the top-five muscle cars in existence in terms of best sellers. If I had to describe Plymouth’s 1968 release of the Road Runner in one word, that word would be – unique. In fact, the ’68 model was incred-ibly unique because its body design was based on the luxury Belvedere with a pillared coupe style. It actually sported a cartoon character – Warner Brother’s road runner – as décor and a “cute” beeping horn that complemented the unusual, but popular image. There weren’t a bunch of luxury options for the ’68 model, after all, the point was to produce a high-performing muscle car at a less than luxurious price, so carpet wasn’t even a standard feature, rubber floor mats and bench seats were. To fulfill the performance standards of production, the coupe body was accompanied by a standard 383 cid power plant complemented by racy heads, manifolds,
camshafts and valve springs along with high performance suspensions, tires and brakes. A 426 Hemi was an optional engine upgrade. The 1968 version of the Plymouth Road Runner was wildly successful, so with release of the 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, Plymouth was more generous with its options. Hardtop, pillared coupe and convertible body styles were made available. Bucket seats were an alternative to the original bench-style seat. The ’69 Road Runner was still very affordable as well as extremely powerful with its engine options ranging from 383 to 440 cid. A 440 + 6 Hemi-like option with an operational hood scoop made the 1969 Plymouth Road Runner one of the fastest racing cars around. The 426 Hemi V8 was also an option that created a real screamer on the raceways. The 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, like its 1968 predecessor, was a unique car that was both simple and powerful. The ’69 model had more options than the ’68, but it remained more affordable to a broader audience than some of its competing muscle cars. Road Runners weren’t wimpy sports cars by any means. They were build strong and sturdy which makes them a highly desirable classic muscle car due to their durability despite their age.About The Author: Written by Jason TarasiJason Tarasi is a muscle car enthusiast who runs the Muscle Car Monster Website, where members can buy and sell muscle cars for free through the site’s online classifieds. http://www.musclecarmonster.com/ Article source: http://www.articlecity.com/ar-ticles/auto_and_trucks/article_1099.shtml.

What is the most popular muscle car of all time that goes zero to sixty in 6.5 seconds flat?
The answer is, the 1966 Pontiac GTO which is a choice muscle car. In fact, when it was released, it quickly became the best selling muscle car of all time. With the ’66 GTO, Pontiac truly created a new masterpiece that has remained in high demand amongst muscle car enthusiasts for nearly four decades.
The ’66 GTO has incredible features. Most notable are the unique headlights and the exceptional contours throughout the body that are the true definition of the term sleek. Of course, being a muscle car, the ’66 Pontiac GTO came in a variety of colors and styles when it was produced including the sports coupe model, the hardtop coupe and the convertible.
If you are shopping for a ’66 Pontiac GTO muscle car, it is probably useful for you to know that the hardtop coupes are the most common, followed by the convertibles. Comparably, there were a lot fewer sports coupe models made, so they are by far the rarest.
Pontiac’s GTO line gained popularity with the release of their 1964 model with its racy style, its powerful V8 engine, and its dual exhaust system. Though it had phony hood scoops, it was definitely a muscle car with an attitude. The ’66 model had a lot of the same features as the ’64, but being the second body style for Pontiac’s GTO line, it redefined style with pizzazz.
The ’66 GTO most commonly has a four-barrel 389 engine, but there was also a tri-power option. After its release, Pontiac added an XS Ram Air package to the tri-power engine giving it a hotter cam and greater power – close to 380 hp – truly ideal for a muscle car. The XS Ram Air package upgrade included the cam and stiffer valve springs along with an accessory pack that enabled the decora-tive hood scoop to be converted into a functional cold-air induction system. There are very few 1966 Pontiac GTOs that have the XS Ram Air setup, so they are definitely unique muscle cars for a muscle car collector.
In regard to muscle cars, there are many that are strongly desired by muscle car enthusiasts. The 1966 Pontiac GTO just happens to be a favorite for many. Style, performance and originality are among the traits that make the 1966 Pontiac GTO one of the hottest muscle cars around.

Many sports car fans have gone into production! That’s right, they have built their own sports cars-often to resemble some of the most rare and valuable sports cars in history. These replicar owners are kit car builders who go out of their way to make high-quality replicas of the real thing.
Among the most popular home-built replica cars are Cobras. The finished products often look indistinguishable from their original counterparts.
Building your own replicar can have a lot of appeal. It may be a way to obtain the dream car one otherwise never afford. It may also be a family project or the extension of mechanical interests. After all, the process must certainly appear exciting to any would-be mechanic who loves to tinker with a car. Replicars allow one to actually build your sports car from the ground up using kit body and other parts, usually along with a commonly available mainstream automotive base.
Those who build their own sports cars seem to develop a greater appreciation for the vehicle and a strong under-standing of both its limitations and strengths. Replicars really elevate the sports car hobby to a different level-every owner becomes a manufacturer with a more vested interest in the success and quality of each vehicle.
There is an active community of replicar builders and fans. This allows tremendous networking opportunities and a great information resource for what can most definitely become a
complicated hobby. Members share information about building kit cars and often have get-togethers, swap meets and rallies where they can find interesting parts and grab new ideas for modifying their homemade cars.
Replicar drivers undoubtedly turn some heads in their “classic” cars, but have a great story to tell those interested, too. It’s a different way of acquiring a sports car, but one that replicar enthusiasts probably wouldn’t trade for anything.
One can find a sports car they love, purchase it, drive it home and enjoy it for years. There is nothing wrong in that tradi-tional model. There is an alternative, however, for those who want to be more actively involved in the construction of their car than those who simply choose a paint color and option practice. Kit car and replicar enthusiasts truly wring the most out of their sports car hobby by playing the roles of both end-user and manufac-turer.

Has this ever happened to you? You’re ready to leave, grab your things, lock your house and go to your car. It’s GONE! Someone stole it! Panic, frustration, rage, fear, helplessness all crash into your brain at one time. What did you do wrong, why did this happen to you?Well, unfortunately, it seems that in the United States, a vehicle is stolen approximately every 30 seconds. That’s 120 cars an hour or 2,880 cars in a single day. Not a comforting statistic. Recovery
statistics are just as bleak, around 50% recovered successfully. What does recovered successfully mean? No major damage to the vehicle when it’s found. Unsuccessfully recovered means the police found your car, but it’s been stripped and basically is nothing but a shell. It is completely up to the vehicle owner to take steps to prevent auto theft. There is a wide range of products to help prevent car theft, with just as wide a range of cost. However, as an owner, there are steps, some simple, and some complex that you can take to help keep you from being part of the above statistics. Let’s start with the simple steps.Lock Your Car! The most basic step of all, and yet people don’t do this. Lock it when you leave it, and lock the doors when you are in the car. Your door doesn’t easily open when it’s locked. A car jacker can’t open the door and pull you out if the door is locked.Keep your spare key somewhere other than hidden on your car. There are only so many places you could hide that spare key and the thieves know them all.Never, ever, leave your car running without you in it, even if you lock those doors. An unattended, running car is an engraved invitation to a car thief. You think you will only leave the vehicle alone for a few minutes. Right. In 2 minutes 4 cars are stolen.Be as choosy as you can when you park your car. Well lighted areas are always best. Turn your wheels toward the curb on the street, or to the side in parking lots and driveways. Sure, you’ll have to spend a few more moments to straighten the wheel
when you leave, but it’s worth the time if you still have your car. If you have rear wheel drive, back into your driveway, front wheel drive, head in parking. This will reduce the chance of your car being towed while stolen (yes, the thieves use tow trucks!)If you are parking in an attended lot, you might be a little safer, but to safeguard yourself, only give the door/ignition key to the attendant. Whenever possible, make sure your door/ignition key
and the trunk key are different. At the very least, you’ll know that the person you gave your keys too won’t be able to get into your trunk.Close all your windows. Hot days make this a terrible option, but really, an open window is another invitation and I’d rather have a hot interior in my car than not have my car. Most cars have air conditioning, and if not, you can open the windows while driving.
Do not keep the title or registration documents in your car. Thieves can use these to sell your car after it’s stolen! Carry the documents with you on your person (purse, wallet, etc.)If you have removable face plates for your stereo equipment, remove it when you leave the vehicle! If you can’t carry it, lock it in the trunk.Don’t leave valuables in your car where everyone can see them. Even if all you have is a small blanket to cover up your shopping bags, if a thief can’t see what’s in your car, he might not be tempted. If you have a garage, use it. Lock not only your car, but your garage as well. A car thief may know a burglar and pass along the info that you don’t lock your garage.Lastly, get educated about vehicle theft prevention products. From alarms to kill switches to the simple “Club” device, there are many different products to choose from. Some states participate in a national voluntary motor vehicle theft prevention program called “The Watch Your Car Program.” Check with your local law enforcement department.Yes, thieves will figure out how to bypass many theft prevention devices, but most of them will pass up a “protected” vehicle for an unprotected one. Don’t make the thief’s attempt easy.

Non-truckers often don’t stop and think about the trucking industry and the many trucking companies that help keep the economy going. Without those big rigs hauling various loads, whether it is gasoline, office supplies or grocery items, this country would be at a stand still. Where do you think the gasoline you pump comes from? What about that package of diapers you are
buying your child? How did they get on the shelves? The answer: a big truck delivers all of that and much more!
Let’s talk about the various types of trucks that you might encounter on the roads. Each one is different because the loads of cargo are different. For example, the same truck that delivers your favorite ice cream brand to the grocery store will not be the same type of truck that delivers office supplies to the local discount store. By the same token, you will have a trucking company that might specialize in the delivery of one certain type of product over the other.
Possibly one of the most hair-raising trucks on the road today is the one that hauls vehicles. You know – those car carriers where you just KNOW that one of those vehicles are going to come loose and fly off onto the hood of your car! Or how about the tanker trucks that haul fuel or other hazardous products like fertilizers and chemicals? Truckers who drive these types of trucks probably have nerves of steel. Not only do they have to worry about safety precau-tions for their own loads they are hauling, but they also have to keep an eye on some of the crazy drivers on the road and always be on the lookout for potential hazards.
Some trucking companies specifically handle household or office moving. Think of those families that sell their homes and move half way across the
country. Truckers that handle that type of load not only have to be careful of these household items due to insurance issues but also have to have great customer service skills to handle these stressed out people making this move.
There are many other types of trucks on the roads today. Flatbed carriers, refrigerated trucks, dry van carriers and even those trucks that carry livestock … non-truckers encounter some of these every day on the roads. We all should be cognizant of the fact that these trucking companies and truckers literally drive the economy. They have a tough load to carry and without them doing their jobs, we could not do our own.

With proper care, quality western saddles will last a lifetime. There are, however, a number of saddle parts that will have a shorter lifespan than the base saddle, or that may be replaced for personal preference reasons. The following are the ten most common western saddle replacement parts.
1. Cinches (Front and Flank). In addition to being cleaned regu-larly, cinches need to be inspected for wear and replaced when necessary. The front cinch, especially, is a crucial part that’s failure could cause a serious wreck.
2. Latigos (aka cinch straps). These straps take a lot of wear and can get worn relatively quickly with heavy use. You DO NOT want to be on a ride when your latigo breaks. Inspect and replace these relatively inexpensive straps regularly. A good way to test a leather strap is to try to tear it. If it tears, the leather is spent and should be tossed out.
3. Off billet. The off billet attaches the cinch to the saddle on the off (right) side. Like the latigo, it receives a lot of wear and needs to be inspected and replaced regularly for safety reasons.
4. Cinch Connecting Strap. This strap connects the front and flank cinches, holding the flank cinch in place. While it doesn’t receive a lot of wear, failure can cause the flank cinch to slip back and spook the horse. It’s a cheap part. Inspect it regularly and replace it when necessary. If you ride with a flank cinch, DO NOT ride without a cinch connect-ing strap in place.
5. Stirrup Leathers. Leathers receive a lot of wear and can wear out before the base saddle. Look for wear around the holes or where the hardware rubs against the leathers. Also try the “tear test” mentioned earlier.
6. Stirrup Hobbles. These straps hold together the fender
extensions and the stirrup leathers so that the rider doesn’t catch his foot in between and get hung up. They are much more important than most riders realize. DO NOT ride without hobbles in place. Since hobbles are small and often removed
to adjust stirrup length (although this isn’t necessary), they tend to “disappear” more than they wear out. Hobbles are another cheap part. Buy extras and have them on hand.
7. Saddle Strings. Additional saddle strings can be added to any saddle dees or rings. You can never have too many saddle strings to tie your gear on with.
8. Horn Wrap. If you’re a regular roper, you’ll need to replace your horn wrap often. Non-ropers will find that one will last the life of their saddle. Horn wraps come in a variety of leather and rubber materials and choice depends on personal preference.
9. Rope Strap. Like Horn Wraps, replacement of the rope strap will depend on use.
10. Stirrups. Stirrups don’t tend to wear out. Most will last as long as the saddle. However, most riders have very specific preferences about their stirrups, so they are a very common replacement part. There are a wide variety of stirrups avail-able in prices ranging from cheap to very pricey.
Whether due to wear or personal preference, there are a number of parts on a western saddle that you’ll probably replace at some point during its life. Most of these parts are relatively cheap and easy to replace. Make sure the key parts are inspected and replaced when necessary.

What is GPS?
GPS stands for Global Positioning System. High above us, there are a group of 24 satellites orbiting the earth constantly providing information to tell us the map location (latitude and longitude) of a car or other vehicle. It also tells us how fast the vehicle is traveling and in what direction.
How is GPS Tracking Information Helpful?
•For parents, it takes some of the worry out of your kids driving long distances home from college. You know where they are and when to expect them home.
•For parents of teenagers, you never have to wonder if your son or daughter is where they say they are. No more late night phone calls asking – “Where are you?”
•For baby-boomers, the shoe is on the other foot - it helps to take some of the worry out of your elderly parents driving home from vacation or just driving around town. You know where they are and this allows them to be more independent.
•GPS tracking is customer service at it’s finest. You know instantly which of your drivers is closest to the customer needing help.
•Imagine how thrilled your customers will be when you can tell them exactly when to expect their delivery!
•For employers, using GPS tracking
allows you to know how fast your employees are driving, how long a break they are taking (vehicle hasn’t moved), and if they are where they say they are!
•GPS tracking also allows you to monitor fuel usage based on how fast your employee is driving and the automatic mileage feature reminds you to schedule, regular preventative maintenance.
•GPS tracking is customer service at it’s finest! You know instantly which of your drivers is closest to the customer needing help. And Imagine how thrilled your customers will be when you can tell them exactly when to expect their delivery!
•GPS Tracking can eliminate the need for having your truckers fill out driving logs.
•Many insurance companies now offer discounts for vehicles protected with tracking systems.

When buying snowboarding equipment the first item on most minds is the snowboard. So what are the basic ‘need to knows’ of the snowboard types? Types of Snowboards: There are three types of snowboard to consider: Freestyle, Freeride(all mountain) and Alpine (carving boards). Freestyle Snowboards These are wide, stable snowboards that are forgiving to ride. They are very responsive which makes them good equipment used for snowboarding for novices. The snowboard characteristics make them good for pulling tricks but less responsive in high speed carving due to flexibility and edge grip. They are often twin tipped and multi directional making them good for tricks and half pipes but ideal for beginners. Freeride(all mountain)Snowboards Generally the most popular snowboard on the slopes. Good for all mountain use, park or half pipe. Freeride snowboards tend to float reasonably well on powder, can carve and can be used to catch air, this make them popular boards. Freeride snowboards tend to be directional, meaning one end (the tip) is wider than the tail. They tend to be soft and manouveurable for beginners but offer enough stiffness for fast carves in harder snow, these boards offer a mix of characteristics between freestyle and alpine snowboards. Alpine Snowboards definitely not for the novice, these snowboards are stiff, narrow, long and built for speed. Built for speed carving and stability at speed with good edge holding powers they tend to be either symmetrical or asymmetrical but always built for one way travel. Length and Width of Snowboard Once you have chosen the type of snowboard that best suits your level of competence and ride style there are then several other fac-tors to be considered in your choice of snowboard before buying. Your height and foot size play an important part in your choice of snowboard. The length of snowboard that will suit will be down to the riders height and ridestyle. Snowboards are usually 100cms to 180cms long. A freestyle snowboard should stand tall enough to reach between the riders shoulders and chin when stood on end. A freeride snowboard should reach between chin and eyebrows. An alpine or carving snowboard should stand tall enough to reach a point between the forehead and a few inches above the head. Foot size is important for determining the width of the snowboard. If
your feet overhang the board there is a danger of catching an edge and tumbling. If your feet are too small then it is difficult to apply pressure to the edges to initiate turns. If you are an advanced rider using a carving board with big feet it may be necessary to alter your stance to avoid overhanging the edges. Of course before you buy equipment used for snowboarding you should rent a few snowboards first to see what style, brand best suit you.

There are many types of motor sports and most of them involve some type of race. Some of the motor sports enjoyed by North Americans include auto racing, truck racing, boat racing, motorcycle racing, as well as ATV racing. Some other motor sports include tractor and truck pulling, and while these events don’t necessarily involve a race, some type of competition always exists.
Motor sport fans who just can’t get enough of automobile racing have a diversity of different type of racing to choose from, all of which include different types of cars and different rules and regulations that govern this particular motor sport. Each individual type of automobile racing also has a specific type of track that the race is held one. Some types of automobile racing include NASCAR, drag racing, endurance racing, Formula One, off road, mud racing, midget racing, modified car racing as well as rally races. Fans of this motor sport are excited to see their favorite drivers reach top speeds, have their cars perform well and enter the winners circle at the end of the race. Motorcycle racing is another motor sport enjoyed by many, and also in-cludes various types of racing. There are races for speed bikes, drag bikes, dirt bikes and mini bikes. Some motorcycles are raced on an oval track, while others are run down a straight and narrow track. Dirt bike racing is often held on a dirt filled track, sometimes inside a large arena, and the grounds the drivers must cover include hills, hair pin turns and steep inclines. All of this makes for quite an exciting spectacle for the motor sport fan.
Boat racing is yet another motor sport enjoyed by fans as well as by those who engage in the fast paced, often dangerous motor sport. For those who enjoy boat racing, hydroplane boats are the watercraft of choice. This type of motor sport can be traced back to the early 1900’s, when powerboats started becoming popular. Today, these particular boats can reach speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour, and every day a new driver is trying to beat the odds at breaking one of the water speed records. Truck racing is also a popular motor sport, and basically has four different categories; the Craftsman Truck Series, monster trucks, mud racing and off-road racing. Truck races can be held on a straight track, on an oval track, across many miles during an off-road race, or in an arena or roped off area that contains mud pits. Truck pulls are very exciting to watch, and is a motor sport with many fans. During a truck pull, two trucks back up against one another and a big, heavy-duty rope is tied between the bumpers. The first truck to pull the other truck over a predetermined line in the center of the pit is the winner.

When purchasing scented items online, such as candles, incense, or bath and body products, it is hard to know what to expect from the fragrance you choose. Especially when computer screens are unfortunately not scratch and sniff (wonderful idea though, isn’t it?). This is especially true when it comes to the fragrance of vanilla. The first reason there is such a varied amount of vanilla scents available (and this is true of lavender as well), is because each fragrance oil manufacturing company is different, and has a different way of making each fragrance. While you might order Vanilla fragrance oil from one company, you could order plain Vanilla from another company and get a completely different smell. This is simply due to the difference in manufacturers.Another thing that makes a huge difference is what you expect the vanilla to smell like. Vanilla on it’s own is not a very descriptive term. When I say vanilla, do you think of the scent of vanilla extract? Or vanilla ice cream? Or possibly even real vanilla beans?Vanilla can be very sugary smelling, or have a faint alcoholic-type scent that is more reminiscent of vanilla extract. It is also used as a base for a ton of other completely different scents, such as Lavender Vanilla, Jasmine Vanilla, Sandalwood Vanilla, Vanilla Musk, French Vanilla, and many others. If the company does not have a fragrance descriptions page that gives a clear idea of what their vanilla smells like, I would
recommend writing to the company and asking what their vanilla does smell like before purchasing. So why so many variations on such a simple fragrance? Psychologists and medical researchers were aware of our positive reactions to the scent of vanilla long before perfume
makers recognized it’s potential. In ex-periments where an odor universally regarded as pleasant is required, vanilla has been a standard choice for decades.Medical experiments have shown that vanilla fragrance reduces stress and anxiety. Cancer pa-
tients undergoing Magnetic Resonance Imaging - a diagnostic procedure known to be stressful - reported a massive 63% less anxiety when heliotropin (a vanilla fragrance) was administered during the procedure.Vanilla fragrance also makes you calmer. A study at Tub-ingen University in Germany showed that vanilla fragrance reduced the startle-reflex in both humans and animals. The animal results indicate that the calming effects of vanilla may be due to some more essential property of the fragrance than the positive childhood associations usually invoked to explain its universal popularity with humans. So not only are there dozens of types of vanilla fragrance, it is also one of the most calming fragrances as well as being a highly popular fragrance among many people. So when looking for that right vanilla fragrance, keep these tips in mind, and make sure that you are looking for what vanilla makes you happy.
