When the Officers and Members of my Company linked their fate to your Battalion I hoped to satisfy the just expectations of my men as to my ability of performing the arduous and laborious duties of a Captain.Unfortunately I was attacked at Camp Kirkpatrick by a spell of camp fever of a low type, which threatened to destroy my life, that I had devoted to the just and holy cause of my country. JOSEPHINE FUQUA November 25, 1869 in Nashville, Tennessee, daughter of JESSE FUQUA and MARTHA WHITWORTH.  She was born April 07, 1853 in TN, and died February 15, 1910 in Nashville, TN. Timothy and William were both in the Civil War. William was taken prisoner somewhere in the Nashville area. Evidently he was too sick or weak to make the trip back to Marietta. The entire family moved to Tennessee to bewith him. When Timothy returned to Marietta after the War and was informed that his family had gone to Tennessee, he walked all the way there. Rhoda Barfield was Timothy's wife.William and Timothy remained in Tennessee and both of them had several children each.
