Briefing on the subject of the meeting, she infonned t e members that a Tenns of reference has been prepared by CiSTUP for introduction of Commuter Rail System (CRS) in Bangalore. In the TOR 6 corridors have been identified, of which only 4 corridors were identified in the CITP for. Bangalore. There i no signalized station in between Devanahalli to Chikkaballapur which is about ] 8 km, this makes it difficult to run the trains. However, DaM, SWR agree~t"torunni ng sub-urban trains froin Yeshwa ntpur to Yelahanka. 2. Benn inganahalli- Thanisandr a- Yelahanka-Doddballapur. This line can be initiated to run commuter rail with a bit of modification works at stations to suit the requirements of sub-urban services. 3. Yes wan tpur-Be nnin ganaha lli- Anekal-Hosur . The corridor is ideal for running CRS. DaM, ~WR expressed that tenninatlon of train at Yeshwantpur is not possible; however. the trains can be operated and terminated at Lotlegollahalli. 4. TumkurlNelamangal a- Yeswantpu r- Benninganaba lli. The corridor has good ridership and most of the trains are over crowd d and is ideal for running commuter rail. "" . 5. Yelahanka-Benn inganahalli- Whit ef ield-Malur-Bangarpet. DOM, SWR agreed for running the commuter rail from Yelnhanka to K R Puram and beyond K R Puram riders ip is less. " 6. Yel aha nka - Yes hwa ntpl1r -City-Kenger i-Rama nagar. The corridor has high ridership between Yelahanka to Bangalore city and is less Deyond that point. " Mr Sanjeev, ?raja explained that at present there are trains (EMUs details in annexure) running" from Bangarpet to Bangalore city, which c.m be further extended to Kengeri considering the direct connectivity to Kengeri to the eastern end o the city.
