Questions? Please contact Melissa Zampitella [email protected] Carpooling Commuter Guide To Guidelines for Commuters • Protect yourself and others by wearing a mask or face covering during your trip (cover both nose and mouth) • Practice good hygiene—wash hands before and after sharing the ride, cover coughs and sneezes • Try to ride with the same people each day to avoid unnecessary exposure • Create a Ride Plan including each person’s contact information and their own rules about things to agree on such as sharing driving, cleaning, maintenance, how long to wait for late passengers, what to do in inclement weather, and eating in the vehicle • Limit carpool size, if possible. When third row is available, seat 1 person per row, diagonally, ie. Row 1- Driver, Row 2- sit on right, Row 3- sit on left (see diagram) • Passengers should sit in the back seat if no third row is available to maximize distance between the passenger and driver • Wipe down high-touch areas before/after every ride (refer to the Cleaning Checklist) • Increase the airflow by opening your car window(s) during trips, if weather permits • Refrain from touching the car and items inside the car as much as possible • Driver and riders should handle their own personal belongs • Record trips online at eCommuter.org • Don’t ride or drive if you are feeling sick Recommended seating with three passengers (if third row is available)
